Compared to rooftop Koreans, shop floor Koreans are pretty tame.

Good for you. I live in a rural area and we’ve lost cats from various dangers.

Where we live it is way better to keep cats indoors so they don’t get run over, eat the neighbors chickens, or get ticks with bobcat fever. However, they also get bored and lethargic…so having a screened in patio space where they can enjoy fresh air and watch birds outdoors helps mitigate that.

That’s good to hear but I’ve mentally put EVE in the dustbin of personal history. Played briefly in 2006. Played while in Iraq in 2009. Enjoyed being early to wormholes and T3…but it just doesn’t hit like it used to. I’m just a wannabe tycoon at heart and when CCP put the game in the hands of PVP folks because they buy PLEX, that was enough to end my time.

As is tradition. Low sec has always been more dangerous than Null. It’s the Hisec yanking that pissed me off enough to stop playing.

There is always input and that input is human. No matter how automated or augmented the analysis, these systems are simply faster ways of digesting human trends…and at a certain speed they seem to ‘predict’ behavior but that’s just because we as individuals aren’t able to intake the same scope of data in a given time frame.

The butterfly effect will always play out in automation because these systems don’t create action plans, yet. When the analysis systems become the operation managers…things will get much weirder.

The simulator can be fun, but you get robbed enough and the urge to become a space fascist gets undeniable.

The pink smoke ring comes from myoglobin conversion in the meat protein. The process ends when external temps rise above 180F or so. The thicker the pink smoke ring the longer the meat was cooked slowly at a lower temperature before finishing.

Wagner revolt in Russia, possible catalyst for the near future? by CuriousSpike in stocks

I would imagine there could be serious disruptions in Russian production of energy and chemicals due to upheaval of the government system. Oil production and metals will be something the warlords fight to influence or control.

Most of that corruption came from those who had deals with Russian oligarchs, so IMO it’s not Ukraine that is corrupt and this is a form of liberation from a massively abusive relationship.

Things are already much messier in reality than the public image projected to the larger world. It’s not fair to those Russian states that are tired of being used as cannon fodder, and looked forward to self determination, to assume they need Putin/Federal Gov to thrive.

For tactical weapons sure, but the world has come a long way since the Cold War and there are many more technical resources devoted to tracking down that kind of thing…and the people who would have bought them in the past now make their own.

Russian An-26 has been shot down reportedly by Wagner forces by BlackMarine in CombatFootage

[–]Wundei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russian forces bombed Wagner forces that had moved to the rear for rest after Bakhmut. Wagner said, “fuck this” and marched on Rostov to confront the Russian military leadership staged there. Russian military leadership fleas to Moscow…so Wagner is now marching to Moscow (although they seem to have more than one concentration). So far during this March the only resistance Russia has shown to Wagner is air strikes, and Wagner has shot down several of the CAS aircraft with MANPADS. Video from Rostov seems to suggest the Russian southern military units and National Guard have little intention of getting in the way…so Wagner will probably make it to Moscow within 24hrs, where the most Putin-loyal units are stationed.

I think most people have a hard time visualizing how complicated using strategic weapons are, they’re not something a mercenary force can use and definitely not something they can maintain. Moving them is a nightmare of logistics, and they degrade over time even if you do everything right. I mention this because it seems like many people assume that nukes are like a gun that you can just point and shoot when needed.

Who is supposed to stop them? Pretty much the entire Russian military is engaged in the Ukraine war in one way or another. Russia population density is a joke as well, there aren’t enough people outside of Moscow and St Petersburg to really engage a determined force marching in the nations interior. Can you imagine being a police officer in a Russian town that these guys roll through??? Fuck that.

It would be just to offer Russia the same deal that Ukraine got after the fall of the Soviet Union; turn over the nukes and you’ll get security guarantees. Didn’t work out super well for Ukraine in the end…but it solved the nuke question.
