Drug Test?

Unless if you’re filing for workers comp or something where impairment would play a role in compensation, your friend* should probably be fine.

Drug Test?

Jonjoloe

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of drug tests in academia, for obvious reasons.

Some people think that Kotor 2 has the best Star Wars narrative in any Star Wars media,do you agree or not?

Jonjoloe
replied to Edgeoste

To add to the above, the first arc is probably the least interesting with the second and third being the most interesting. Although, episode 3 has one of my favourite shots in Star Wars (as does I think episode 6, this show probably has the best cinematography in Star Wars).

However, Andor is a spy story and is a slow burn. If you don’t find things like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy engaging and interesting, you’ll dislike Andor.

Ok but the Giants did the right thing🤷‍♂️

I would say Steven Jackson.

Dude was a 1k yard rusher for 8 straight years and averaged over 4ypc on some absolute dogshit Rams teams.

As a result, most people have no idea who he was or how great he was. Didn’t leave STL until he had no tread left.

[Traska Venturer v4]

I have one of the older generations and it gets more wear time than a lot of my “expensive” pieces especially for travel. The scratch resistance makes it very durable as well.

I personally don’t mind the crown at 10, as it makes it slightly more interesting than a GMT with an external bezel, and doesn’t accidentally move as much.

Also, keep in mind that the +/- is an aggregate across all positions but the watch may actually be different depending on how it’s worn/stored.

For example, my Aqua Terra is +2 spd when stored normally, but when stored upside down is -5spd.

Collinsworth was actually praised and largely considered one of the best for a while. Buck and Aikman used to be incredibly milquetoast and underwhelming until they started to not care, and Simms and Nantz was absolute garbage.

EDEP 429 (Intro Statistics)

R is by far the best but also the most complicated of these to learn by a wide margin.

JASP uses R for its analyses, but has an interface/GUI more similar to SPSS.

If this course requires you to submit your analysis outputs, none of these programs will look like SPSS though, from what I recall. So your professor will know you’re not using SPSS. Also, some of the analysis tools will be missing in each of these free programs and will require add-ons or you doing them in another platform.

I would personally opt for JASP over PSPP as a free SPSS alternative for a first time/intro to stats student.

McGraw Hill is everything that is wrong with humanity

Jonjoloe
replied to iamflatsteel

We sometimes get to choose, sometimes we don’t. Sometimes we’re required to assign a textbook even if we’ll never use it. It honestly depends on the program that professor is in and the administrative requirements/pedagogy behind the people in charge.

I’m required to have a textbook regardless if I use it or not, so I try to go OER, but those don’t always exist. There are only a few major publishers for textbooks out there, so McGraw Hill does end up being used from time to time. I do subtly relay to students that I don’t really use the textbook/it shouldn’t be needed for them to do well, but I can’t officially say “don’t buy it” (I have gotten in trouble for this before). That said, I never use their course service features, and would never let a publisher have access to my course.

[Discussion] Are we becoming afraid of water? WR charts comparison

From what I understand, it depends on the watch brand. For it to be ISO certified it needs to meet specific specifications and brands like Omega guarantee the water resistance listed is accurate.

However, seals and gaskets degrade overtime.

I also just want to add that I find all this talk about WR to be kind of silly when a pool is barely 2m deep and most people will rarely snorkel beyond 10m.

I’d say Kenobi is a better comparison. A mid tier movie’s worth of plot stretched over 8 episodes or so.

A story set in the pre Skywalker era should have been a slam dunk and opportunity to return to basics like KotOR was. Similarly, Kenobi should have been a slam dunk but was incredibly mediocre, at best.

Both series are similarly often summarised online as: “Well that one dark lightsaber fight was kinda cool.”

Current Starting QB Hall of Fame Odds Tier List (imo)

Jonjoloe
replied to ElectivireMax

Both of those QBs listed are multiple SB winners. Staubach also led the year in passer rating 3x more than Wilson and has a Super Bowl MVP over him.

Unless Wilson wins another, the lack of personal accolades will likely be problematic for him.

NFL team that you hate, but jersey color/Logo you love?

The Broncos have been masters at edging us with almost giving us the classic look but getting the colours just wrong enough to make them hideous somehow.

Kinda like how when the Rams brought back the bone helmets but left the gold horns on the shoulder pads, making a mismatch I couldn’t unsee.

In your opinion, who’s the most talented QB in NFL history? (not necessarily the greatest)

And Brees was far more accurate, I didn’t even have to say his name and you already knew.😊. And he also still hasn’t caught Brees in yards or tds.

They probably mean emoji and mean this.

[Omega] Speedmaster or [Tudor] Black Bay 54

Jonjoloe
replied to KentJMiller

Don’t bother bro. He’s set on Tudor > Omega, which is fine but has nothing objective to back it up outside of secondary market pricing (lol), nor did he dive into his subjective reasoning.

I gave up when he used vintage watch prices as his argument in a conversation about modern company competitors. I genuinely don’t think he understands how to evaluate companies and their market positioning and is just using confirmation bias.

[Omega] Speedmaster or [Tudor] Black Bay 54

Jonjoloe
replied to yardwhiskey

This keeps getting reposted but isn’t true in the slightest. Tudor would need to grow 5x in market share and turnover to directly compete with Omega, while Omega is only 3x behind Rolex.

Tudor has made some decent developments but they are still leagues behind Omega in quality and name recognition. Owning both brands and recent models of both brands, it’s noticeable how far behind Omega Tudor is, although Tudor’s movements are catching up spec wise. That said, Tudor’s same price category competitor from Swatch, Longines, has also made great advancements are are nearly double the market share of Tudor.

For how much hype Tudor gets on Reddit, they’re actually pretty small in the overall market share. Although, this might change as Rolex does seem to be pushing them more.
