I actually get the opposite message. Many of the Marvel heroes are powerless. Tony is just a normal smart dude. Hawkeye and Black Widow have no special powers. Steve Rogers was chosen for the Cap project because he was a good person, not because he had special powers. Thor had no powers in his first movie. Peter Quill has no powers. Rhodey is just a dude. Sam is just a dude. The list goes on and on.

And many who do have powers have them only through their own brains/inventiveness: Hank Pym and by extension Scott Lang and Hope don’t have any powers, but Hank is a genius and invented pym particles. Bruce got Hulked by being a genius scientist researching gamma rays.

What they say to me is that it’s not the powers that make the superhero, but their strength of character. That anyone can change the world if we work hard enough and believe in something greater than ourselves.

Yeah but that flip only happens because of Tony’s feelings of guilt over Sokovia. And freaking Captain America takes up the anti-establishment narrative, and wins in the end, so it’s not exactly a pro-establishment piece like you’re making it out to be.

Waiting for Stevie - Radio Edit

I agree but the reality is a lot of average listeners don’t care about guitar solos and radio stations often fade them anyways, even if there’s not an edit. Drives me crazy.

I’d check out both 90’s contemporaries and also artists Billy likes: The Cure, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, The Cars, Queen (esp Queen II), Iron Maiden, Pantera, Joy Division and New Order.

I second many of the suggestions that have been made so far: Deftones, Muse, Hum are great. I’d add Alice In Chains and one of my personal favorites: Coheed and Cambria.

Harley Benton is possibly releasing a model inspired by Dave’s signature Gibson/Epiphone

I have the Eastwood one. Got it from Amazon cause I needed a cheap guitar to have at my beach house as a beater. It showed up perfect out of the box, in tune even, and is one of my favorite guitars I have. Maybe I just got a good one, but the damn thing is impeccable. Electronics sound awesome, pickups are hotter these my Les Paul and don’t feedback. I’ll probably upgrade the tuners to locking tuners because I do that on all my guitars, but otherwise I haven’t needed to change a thing. My one minor gripe is that the neck is fairly easy to apply pressure to and make the pitch warble, so maybe a bit cheap on the neck wood, but it’s not a problem and is very well built.

How do you all get along with autistic non ADHD people?

Digitlnoize

It’s worth knowing that studies say that between 50-80% of people with autism also have adhd. And since our adhd criteria suck, and they use strict criteria in studies, they’re going to miss a fair number of cases. So, I suspect it’s closer to the 70-80% end than the 50% end, but regardless, most people with autism also have adhd, but will often be undiagnosed.

To those saying a company's core business being proftiable is the ONLY measurement of success, what would you say if they do something like this?

I think Cohen is probably aiming bigger and better. What did he try and buy before? Towel stock. Why? Because he wanted the Baby most likely from his letter. So he wants to diversify GameStop’s retail presence into other areas.

There is a key line in the most recent filing which says something to the effect of, “we expect the company’s investments will align with the personal investments of board members, as several board members have significant personal stakes in GME”. Or something along those lines.

What stock has Cohen shown interest in? Nordstrom. Nordstrom has Operating Income of just over $500M per year, and a net profit of $134M per year. Market cap? 3.7B. I think Cohen wants to make the GME war chest big enough to buy Nordstrom’s (who also have a significant baby presence btw) and have cash left over for runway.
