How is it legal to require the employee to get/pay for all required equipment , especially for a job that pays $19/hr?!

Dude, you don't need a link. You need to type "cheap laptop" into google and get 50 responses, or walk into your local walmart or bestbuy or whatever equivalent home electronics retailer you have in your area.

These are not secret magical one-off prices, it's just what cheap and plentiful older tech costs now. I get a list between $108 (refurbished from Amazon) and $250 from best buy in Canada, so that's about 30% more than what you'd pay in USD.

Sure isn't. I'm against the company not providing anyway, but you can get a brand new perfectly serviceable laptop for $350 or less, never mind looking for a used one. It's not going to play modern video games, but it will do what's needful for customer service. You can get an older model cell phone for next to nothing. If you don't have high-speed internet already, sorry, you're just not a good fit for this position.

New GameStop policy regarding employee interactions with influencers

I'm of the same opinion, but like it or not, this is how a lot of people are getting their "news" and entertainment (especially those more likely to be playing video games).

At least back in the day, reporters were honest about who they were and what they were up to, and would ASK if people would be ok with being filmed etc.

These new breed or randos just go where they please and film whatever they want without getting consent most of the time. It's appropriate that Gamestop and any other company, really, puts out some guidance on what to do in these new circumstances.

Someone tried to ask about cost of living wages at my tech company…. And the reply was so upsetting

That can certainly be true. If it's a highly specific or nuanced position, or one that benefits from individual relationships among the team and clients, onboarding/training might be costly and disruptive. If it's work that anyone (with the same qualifications) can do more or less on their own, maybe it's not.

To play devil's advocate about employees becoming more valuable, there's another school of thought that says longer-term employees get WORSE over time, not better, because thay figure out where they can get away with slacking. They start to do the bare minimum, thinking that it would be too difficult to replace them, whereas fresh blood has something to prove.

I think it's important to be aware of and realistic about what kind of position you're in. Sometimes you can be a lynchpin, and sometimes you're just a cog in the machine.

"Let me drink your bath water".

Not new at all. "Influencer" bathwater has been a thing for years (sad to say).

Standard capitalism. Don't be offended that the company doesn't want to increase its labour costs across the board by 18% "for no reason." They do not believe that most employees have bettter options that they are willing to take. You HAVE to prove them wrong by getting a better offer.

The one and only reason to increase pay is when the market forces them to - and I do not mean when they get a report about average market wages for your sector in your area. I mean when they actually cannot get people to work for the wages they are paying now.

If you like where you work, you could even act regretful when you come to them with the better offer. Like their recruiter reached out to you, and much as you believe in the company/like the team/respect the manager/whatever, the offer is just too good to pass up if the company can't match it. I don't mean bootlick, just be clear it's business, you're not being a troublemaker.

I submitted another complaint to the SEC
Beaesse

The wall street analysts' consensus expectation for was $0.25 EPS, and last years' FQ4 revenue was $2.2B. The actual EPS was only $0.21, on $1.8B revenue. An earnings miss, and a sales drop of $400M. No guidance and no (shared) plan to increase revenue. Of COURSE the stock price fell.

Your letter reads like a child throwing a tantrum, offering ZERO evidence of actual wrongdoing. Think what you want, I am also extremely bullish on GME, and stoked for profitability, but letters like yours are exactly why the SEC (and the rest of wall street) does not treat household investors with due respect.

As for me, I like the stock, and I'll be buying the dip.

If you have a question for the Prisident of Global Capital Markets at Computershare, please ask it below.

Not specific enough. They are ALL directly regestered. Some are registered to Cede & Co., and some to individual investors. Perhaps some to institutions, but I think those are mostly held beneficially.
