Subnautica feels more... down to earth despite being set on an alien planet.
There are usual construction shortcuts, usual resource gathering, and a few bugs that still plague the game years later =P
But it's still pretty realistic, for a Sci-Fi game, and how you're the guest there.
Story is pretty good, although some parts can be a bit jarring.
Achievements unlock as you play, you don't need to go out of your way to get them, they're technically unmissable.
Ending is ... satisfying.
And it has a sequel too.
Raft on the other hand, fun as it is (and it is fun, in places very fun and even tense like the boss fights) is a bit messy. It's not a bad game, but there is something off about it. Odd even. Grind, for achievements, for resources... You have to go out of your way to do something, such as playing for 365 IN-Game days to get one, for example. As the game, after getting everything else, can be done in less than that.
Do this 5000 times, this 50 and this 50 and this 50, do this 25 times, find this stuff, find that stuff, slap a ho, seduce a simp, trycoxagain.
Then again, I think Raft is meant to be played with friends. Dunno how boss fights would work then but meh.
Raft takes itself way too serious and suffers for it, it's unrealistic, despite attempts for otherwise.
Ending is... unsatisfying IMO.
But it does feature a plethora of set pieces that are different enough and visually appealing. Has some checkbox for people who like to get creative with constructions (raft titanic? Sure)
