I haven't read the comics but read a couple of the books (Asunder and Masked Empire). They seem to go to great lengths not to actually touch upon anything that could be altered by our choices. The Hero of Ferelden is only ever referred to as such and never given a gendered pronoun or assigned a race.

As far as I could tell the only thing I can think of is that Wynne and Shale were both canonically with the warden during the blight, since you can technically refuse to let them join you. Also, when Wynne reflects on the final battle in DAO, she talks about it as if she was with the Warden fighting the archdemon at Fort Drakon, so I guess take her in your party and don't leave her at the gate.
