Well of courses, you need to live near major metropolitan areas to find well paying jobs. I believe that’s true in every state. Majority of California is pretty rural and probably pretty rear to find a high pay job. But the cities where people are (which is a majority of the population) is what I’m referring to.

Maybe in the middle of no where. Honestly lots of great cities here in the Midwest, my salary in my profession is Comparable to those in CA and NY yet my cost of living is substantially less, and my taxes are lower. Much better COL to income ratio. I feel people have a distorted image of how the Midwest or non costal cities are like. Lots areas with great high paying jobs and low cost of living.
