maybe the premise of it was but if i recall right the story he told was debunked pretty easily as a lot of the timelines didn’t match up with what he said

it’s especially weird when their first fight leon was the one being aggressive and had phenomenal success with it. this fight every round his corner was begging him to go forward and he didn’t.
wow i thought about going to this but those prices are insane. i guess ONE’s gotta try and turn a profit somehow. i remember when PFL was in ATL last summer and they were basically giving away tickets. WWE is doing a PLE here in October and those prices are about the same as this though fwiw
him vs Gane headlining the annual paris card in september could be super fun, although it feels like pereira is too big for a fight night card now
i was re-watching their first mma fight and it’s insane he didn’t go out. he ate 2 clean right hands, then ate the flush left hook and a flurry of clean shots and didn’t go out, all after 4 hard rounds
dipping jab, Jack Slack has made a great video about this based around amanda nunes vs julianna peña (awful fight technically but the technique is sound). it might be taken off youtube now but you can find it on bilibili. it’s a very simple technique but it’s extremely effective against people wanting to jab with you and tricky to deal with

Am I insane or is this not the best form for hip thrusts?? @Katiesonier
glute bridges are so overrated, they aren’t even a good hypertrophic exercise, there’s no real stretch on the glutes at any point much less under load

[SPOILER] Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin
i feel like i’m taking crazy pills hearing the commentary rave about martin’s foot work. his game plan was circling to his right endlessly, backing into the corner, then using a ton of energy to get out. it was obvious early on unless he committed to pressuring or keeping the center tank’s pressure was going to wear on him and he’d get stuck on the ropes
i think the thing that really screwed him was getting knocked out by sandhagen and coming back 2 months later, to get knocked out by rob font
supposedly he told the ufc he only wanted to box, not mma so they let him out of his contract to box only. don’t no what the status of his contract is now but remember reading that story before his boxing matches
the second one wasn’t really close, commentary was really overstating that, it’s so insanely hard to finish a d’arce with just the headlock you need to be able to torque down on the back of the neck

Beginner -- critique my kick (i know its really bad)
can’t tell for certain but based off the angle of the video you should be stepping out a bit wider (to your right) with your right leg before you kick to have better balance and feel more powerful (at least for the classical thai round kick). also i would say you’re kicking (left) leg is swinging out too early, generally you want to start the kick with just bringing your knee up and forward, and turn your knee down right before you make impact, as this is when your hips turn over and you make the biggest force. think of the movement of the kick being shaped like г .if you do this earlier in the movement you lose a bit of power before you connect, whereas if you do it right before impact you accelerate into the target and drive through. as for the distancing it’s a bit weird for everyone at first so don’t feel too bad about that, it’s difficult on a bag and especially when you’re trying to figure out how punches and kicks work together. just make sure you’re landing with your shin consistently and not your foot, and over time you’ll naturally figure it out
man’s about to die but still had to hit the double biceps for the fans jack slack would be proud
it’s genuinely incredible how much success Geoff has found in his career thus far with zero knowledge of how to cage cut or pressure effectively. Garry spent 90% of the fight circling into Geoff’s power hand and he didn’t even attempt to punish him for doing it
i don’t know for sure but i’m pretty sure Nieky also was given this on short notice. i follow him on IG, and it didn’t seem like he was training or doing anything to prep for this when it was announced. also this fight was at a weight higher than he’s ever fought at and he didn’t look nearly as in shape as his previous fight. felt like ONE wanted to throw something together to pad this card out, bizarre matchmaking all around

[SPOILER] Artur Beterbiev vs. Callum Smith
people are praising him for being tough, but he got decisively outjabbed by a fighter smaller than him who isn’t known for his jab, abandoned his game plan, and got knocked out trading with the heaviest puncher in boxing
unless his chin has dropped to end of career liddell levels, i doubt it. he’s more skilled than tony and much more fundamentally sound, which should be able to keep him above most guys in the 10-20 range. he’s also never relied on athleticism like tony so i doubt him declining physically would have too big of an effect
there’s also a literal amateur mma fight on this lol
yeah the more i watch this team the more i’m convinced they wouldn’t have been the elite super bowl contender people think they would have if they had rodgers. they would be a bit better, but the issues with this team run way deeper than who’s playing quarterback
my favorite part about Zach Wilson is how he’ll be bad for the majority of the game then turn into Mahomes during a 2 minute drill when the Jets need a clutch drive lol. he does seem to be improving though
nah izzy is much more active at throwing strikes at the end of his range in space and getting off the fence if backed up (besides the strickland fight). they might both be counterstrikers but izzy is much better at doing it on his terms
it’s also not a good sign when you have an 8” reach advantage over your opponent and spend the majority of the fight on your back foot.
certainly in the conversation, although it’s probably Petrosyan
commentary was bugging this whole fight, petroski clearly won the first round, he might not have landed much but threw way more. GM3 didn’t do anything that round
people have also grabbed their own shorts to defend against kimuras
