[MacMahon] Sources said Doncic, who hasn't shown a desire to be involved in personnel matters in the past, has strongly indicated he wants the Mavs to upgrade before the Feb. 9 trade deadline. by urfaselol in nba

It's weird that you keep saying the Mavs had no chance when every report says the Mavs NEVER offered Brunson a fair value contract in the totality of the last two seasons.

I'm willing to admit I'm wrong if you can provide a source. I provided one from a reputable journalist from espn who says Brunson wanted to resign. WHO ARE YOU to say he's wrong? Do you have any proof to back up your wildly ignorant claims

All I see is you crying about losing a player your team never wanted and hiding behind a thunder flair to pretend to be impartial. Keep making all the excuses u want, and when Luka demands a trade in the next few years, u can keep blaming the Knicks for that too.

You keep saying I'm wrong but can't even pull up one report of the Mavs making a genuine contract offer towards Brunson. What happened to all your valuable beat writers you trust with your life?

Maybe you should actually start evaluating information using facts rather than your feelings.

But sure, keep blaming the Knicks for the Mavs own incompetence

Show me where I'm wrong? The Mavs never wanted Brunson. They didn't even offer him a contract lmao.

And yet you're over hear crying about this cheap ass franchise who couldn't give two shits about fielding a competitive roster

I have a source it's right here from a reputable espn journalist. What's yours?

You keep crying about the Mavs having no shot at Brunson.

Show me ONE SOURCE that shows the Mavs EVER offered Brunson a market rate contract. The Knicks couldn't offer more money than the Mavs, why didn't they outbid the Knicks?

This cheap ass franchise won't pay anyone and you're gonna cry about players leaving for more money?

So what's the source my man? U keep citing Mavs beat writers for your misinformation and yet not one of them said the Mavs offered Brunson a reasonable contract

Fine, if a well respected journalist like McMahon can't be trusted for some reason, show me the Mavs beat writer that reported Brunson TURNED DOWN A MAX CONTRACT from the Mavs.

If not, then the Mavs fucked up because they easily could've kept him but were too cheap to do so on THREE separate occasions. They didn't value him. They were wrong. And now all they do is cry about how they never had a chance when they were the first, second, and third option for him.

Why didn't they offer him a contract last summer? Why didn't they offer him a max this summer? At some point its on them, take some goddamn responsibility for once

It's really puzzling to me that you keep absolving the Mavs of their fuck up when they did just that. It happens all the time with every team, it's not a big deal.

What's crazy is the amount of mental gymnastics around why it's actually a smart move not to offer Brunson a contract while also complaining about never having had a chance of getting him in the first place.

There are multiple reports out there about the Mavs not offering him contracts last summer and this summer. Why is it all of a sudden this reporting from McMahon, an actual nba journalist, is wrong and we should believe YOU, a random redditor commenting without using any sources to back your claim?

[–]lebryant_westcurry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So the Mavs fucked up by not extending him last season which you agree with?

And you can say he was gone regardless, but did the Mavs make a good faith effort to keep him this summer? All reports indicate they never considered offering him that. We don't know if he would be gone no matter what because the Mavs didn't make an offer for him to turn down.

So they messed up 2 opportunities to keep him. How is this not on the Mavs?

[–]lebryant_westcurry -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If his only goal was to play on new york, then why did he want to sign an extension with he Mavs last summer?

The Mavs miscalculated Brunson's value. That happens, but it also means that they fucked up. Until you show me reports that the Mavs offered max extensions that Brunson turned down, there's no changing the fact that it's on them.

So they were too cheap to offer him a reasonable extension when he wanted it. And once he's outplayed it and was due for a max, the Mavs were too cheap to offer him the max.

Seems like the Mavs had many chances but were too cheap to bring in any help

This is blatantly false. Brunson wanted the extension last summer but the Mavs never offered it. After that season, Brunson could've also gotten the max but he Mavs never offered it.

I doubt Gane has put in the same amount of time on the stationary bike as Reyes has. There's levels to this.

Fighters lie all the time about their tactics because they don't want to reveal too much going into the fight. How many times have we heard a fighter say there will be no wrestling only for them to shoot for a takedown early in the fight?

The obvious gameplan was to at least attempt some wrestling even if he's unsuccessful so he can make Pereira think about that threat

Strickland didn't even attempt 1 takedown in his fight with Pereira. Size wouldn't matter if Strickland doesn't even try to wrestle Doumbe

What if Kevin Durant never went to the Golden State Warriors back in 2016? by Tg11T in nbadiscussion

[–]lebryant_westcurry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I think KD would've won a ring with OKC assuming health. And if that's the case, a championship with okc is probably looked upon more favorably than the 2 he won with the warriors.

First, OKC was verrrrrry close to winning it in 2016. They were up 3-1 and the warriors were def struggling with OKC's size and athleticism, something that wouldn't have changed going forward had KD not joined them. I don't think the warriors would've been able to replace KD with another nearly as impactful FA and probably just re-signed Harrison Barnes and essentially be capped out with the 2016 roster returning.

Secondly, Al Horford had said he was going to sign with okc had KD re-signed with the warriors. Seeing how good he was in those Boston years, that team would've been a force. You would have a lineup of Westbrook, Oladipo, KD, Horford, and Adams. Not to mention guys like Roberson coming off the bench. Imagine the defense of that team, it's gonna be almost impossible for anyone to score on them.
