I know T&J got slammed on Rotten Tomatoes, but when I see a disconnect between audience and critics score like this, I'm just going to assume it's a non-political cartoon for children with no gay or black characters just for the sake of representation or some weird liberal social messaging. Yeah, that's how I like my cartoons too. I'm looking forward to watching it now. Definitely my favorite cartoon as a child.

It's pretty generic. That doesn't mean it's bad, but implying the structure is unique when like almost any battle shonen in existence it has a tournament arc right after it's introduction shows that it definitely follows a same structure. Not to mention the hidden organization stuff which is there almost in any battle shonen.
Ah, forgot I'm on the anime sub for a moment lol. Fine enough critique I suppose, though I wouldn't say a tournament arc is anything more than a narrative device that can be used many ways, I see what you mean.
Not to be rude, but if you think this was Francis vs Lewis esque, or that Bigi was traumatized by the Francis KO, please make sure you're watching the fights before you talk about them lol.
That rudeness aside, a quality showing from Gane and a real exposing of Bigis technical flaws tonight. He got away with it cause he got the KO in the Overeem fight, but the man can be outdone and outworked when he faces elite competition.
Ankhalev had a harder fight then expected too, but a gritty win is still a win.
And finally, Jimmie Rivera and Pedro Munhoz are savages who deserve more than 50k in bonus money.
