It seems like Sega is interested in incorporating western celebrities the same way they do Japanese ones. With IW they really started an even bigger push for the western market in terms of marketing.

Though I don't think this specifically means too much other than Sega doing marketing research. Minoru Iwasaki, for example, is one of the localisers from Sega. I think they just wanna research if it is worth it all to incorporate celebrities like these and what type of celebrity would be the easiest in terms of recognition and availability.

That is the most accurate way of describing Yakuza 3 combat. My main gripe isn't necessarily the enemies blocking or the quickstep being weird in the remaster, but the damage being so low. It makes battles go on forever. In the end I relied on Komaki Parry, but constantly spamming R1+O isn't really fun as well.
