I got 35% on my first calc midterm, 30 below the average. I graduated, have a job, a condo and a dog and forgot all about that exam until just now when I randomly decided to visit this subreddit. You'll be okay friend

You should be fine. I would highly recommend picking a program with coop though

I'd say it depends where you're at. If you have a sciences/math undergrad degree, self-learn/bootcamp then network into a job. If not, do a second degree in cs or a 2 year college program with coop.

I hate talking about being a software dev on this sub because everyone gets annoyed by the flex, but truly blessed.

Job is fun, people are awesome, pays great and my hours are strictly x to y.

I am in a very different life situation (single guy, 24), but I also made the move from GTA to Vancouver early this year. Immediate change: I do a lot more stuff outdoors. In Toronto (Danforth), everything felt a little too far away, even with a car. Here, no car, I can still get to a ski hill/hike within an hour. The food scene (I love eating out) is different but still great. Less diversity, but asian food in general is quite good. Both cities are about equal in terms of events, but Toronto has a slightly "easier to find" nightlife.

I thing I would say is if you're renting, it might be hard to find a place that allows pets. You might have trouble finding a place that does. Other than that, I don't see many problems you may face as long as you budget well enough (then again your household income is 250k). Vancouver is in general a pretty nice place to live. Similar is quality of life to Toronto, but different in obvious ways.
