Here's information about my favorite lighthouse, the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse (yes, people can have favorite lighthouses, don't judge me)

If you're driving a car with out-of-state non-WA plates (especially California) - watch your speeds even further.

californians moved north, brought their cost of living with them and their attitudes. especially from the bay.

not saying portland doesn't suck, but we didn't need help making our city suck more

I guarantee you that posts per day hasn't decreased, it's just been that a lot of them are nuked by mods for being awful

in my brain, I know this, but I have an axe to grind with californians so regardless of the reality of the situation it's "warriors fans bad, lakers fans bad" and smug pricks regardless of where they're from are assholes.

sure, that's fine, but (some) bay area people are already kinda smug pricks so to add a winning sports team on top of that? hell nah, just too much

Either Haslem or Ricky Rubio. First one is self-explanatory. Second, Ricky Rubio's game with this Cleveland team would be fun.

Longtime prosecutor says he will challenge Multnomah County DA Mike Schmidt by dazzlehasselhoff in Portland

[–]RipCityTilIDie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't unfortunately hold people accountable if there's nowhere to put them. As far as I'm aware, our jails and hospitals are full.

Also can't hold them accountable if their Gideon rights aren't able to be provided due to defense attorney shortages.

Don't know how we fix these things without throwing a ton of money at the problem.

Longtime prosecutor says he will challenge Multnomah County DA Mike Schmidt by dazzlehasselhoff in Portland

[–]RipCityTilIDie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given that the DA isn't the entire problem here - no.

I guarantee you that if the public defenders and psychological/hospital bed needs were met, we'd see more arrests and things "stick".

As it stands, we can arrest and charge people with minor crime, but they're entitled to a lawyer, and since most people can't afford one, the state must provide them one. If they can't, they basically have to drop the charges. Or, the best method forward for the person would be either: jail space (of which we have little) or psychological ward / hospital space (of which we have little)

So, as much as I hate prosecutors, the courts and the whole police system, the failings of the system are not to be laid solely at their feet. For things to work, and for recidivism to be as low as possible, we need to provide people a path back to society, which right now?

Yeah, good luck.

[–]RipCityTilIDie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As much as I'd like to blame the DA for this, the lack of prosecution is due to a lack of public defenders, more than likely.

So, blaming Mike Schmidt for Salem's lack of funding and parity of public defender pay is not necessarily fair.

Dell Poweredge R310 Max HDD size by Atmos_760h in homelab

[–]RipCityTilIDie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually related to something in the storage path somewhere.

Older hardware usually has limitations (total capacity, drives can't be larger than 2TB, etc)

Consumer-grade machine = something like an old ryzen 1st gen motherboard and processor would be fine.

this is total.

I also don't recommend getting a R310, get something newer. Or if you're doing a NAS just using a consumer-grade box is going to be better.
