[Barry Jackson] Liam Eichenberg will play right guard on Sunday, per McDaniel. Brewer back at center.

Great point.

I think anyone who just takes a raw PFF grade and think it's a declaration as to how good a player is or isn't is pretty misguided because there's a lot of relevant context the grades don't really account for.

There's been a number of times where PFF's system have a player ranked one way, but the people in charge of the company have said played ranked way higher or way lower, with this instance being the most relevant.

He wasn't mid though. I have no clue why people who barely watched the team keep making wrong declarations as to how good he was

Last year: 12th in completion % allowed, 3rd in passer rating against, had 3 INTs in 10 games (Tied for 12th), and allowed 1 TD.

His 3rd year in the league, while he's in his prime: 11th in completion % allowed, 13th in passer rating against, 3 INTs in 16 games (Tied for 9th), allowed 3 TDs.

If PFF grades were the authority on big drop offs, it would also mean it's showing Surtain is far from even being a top 5 cornerback in the league and is underserving of a mega contract considering his first three year grades are:

2021: 66.1

2022: 86.8

2023: 69.0

That means both teams definitely don't see it PFF's way when it comes to these players.

I have no clue where you're getting that he was getting cooked.

He was 12th in completion % allowed, 3rd in passer rating against, had 3 INTs in 10 games (Tied for 12th), and allowed 1 TD. His numbers don't show a massive drop off from when he was in his prime.

It's not his career best year obviously, but it's inline with some of his prime years. He also allowed 3 receptions of over 20+ yards in 10 games. I don't think anyone would consider that getting cooked.

Rapoport: The 3-year, $72.3M extension that includes $55.3M guaranteed was agreed to a couple days ago, but Ramsey wanted to wait until he was back on the field to release it. Safe to say he'll be at practice today.

Kinda implies he was sitting out until the deal was done and not actually injured. It also treks with what Rickey claimed a day or two ago about Ramsey signing a huge deal being imminent and that he was sitting out, not injured.

A little annoyed McDaniel made it seem like it was the team that was begging him not to play and Ramsey was doing a good job fighting the urge to get back on the field quickly, but that's business I guess. Just glad he's back.

He had better CB related stats than Surtain at the very least.

52.9 passer rating allowed when thrown at, 54.8% of balls thrown his way were completed, allowed 1 TD and had 3 INTs in 11 total games.

Surtain: 93.9 passer rating allowed, 62.9% completion %, allowed 3 TD, had 1 INT in 17 games last year

The great thing is he has shown no drop off, and with the way we structure contracts, we can get out of it without much pain when he does actually start to show major drop off.

Lmao. Just had to beat the deal Surtain got by 100k a year. Love the pettiness

That makes more sense. It sounded like you were saying the reason people would watch something they're convinced is fixed is because they think there's a chance it isn't, which sounds like a confused person.

I don't even know what type of justification you're trying to use. Are you saying a person that's convinced the NFL is scripted watches it because they also think there are reasonable explanations for why it may not be scripted?

Sounds like an extremely confused person to me

Agreed with that. It's clear that most of these active players strongly don't agree with the very pretty stats attributed to Gobert that show him as the best defender in the league.

It'd be one thing if it were an isolated couple players that have this take about Gobert. But it seems like it's a large number of players who all believe Gobert is massively overrated, and a lot of them have actually played against him. It's not like this opinion is worthless because of stats.

He's still around on a new account called uglyrickey213 where he posts things in opposites, and was correct about two signings yesterday

Wednesday injury report

I know a lot of you said they load up the report to mess with teams and what not. It drives me nuts as a PT why they just couldn’t divulge that Ramsey had a hamstring or Jones had an ankle. How does that change anything?

And they haven’t practiced in forever so for them to call them day-to-day and then be out 3 weeks is stupid.

Fully agreed

NFL schedule makers decided to limit our advantage so we only have two 1 PM games at home over the first 10 games.
