Max Strus cheap shot on Tatum? by Hold_The_Rope-21 in bostonceltics

I thought we got a favorable whistle the 2 games in Boston but last night it was all going Miami’s way

“Normal person” who mocks someone who clearly needs help. If this is serious, you’re an asshole. If it’s not and he’s getting off social media or looking for attention, he clearly still isn’t in a good place being ominous like this. Whether they are good reasons or bad.

Instead of playing it safe (to not be an asshole) and just agreeing with the person who said they hope he’s okay, you decided to make a jab at his mistake and when told it was an out of pocket comment, you doubled down. You aren’t normal bro. You lack empathy, and probably self-awareness too.

[Post Game Thread] The Boston Celtics (1-3) hold on to win against the Miami Heat (3-1), 116-99, and extend the series to a Game 5. Jayson Tatum with 34/11/7/1/2. by 3rdEyeDeuteranopia in nba

Celtics haven't lost 4 in a row since the end of the 2021 regular season (May 12, 2021). Before that you'd have to go back to the Bucks series in 2019.

Since Grant was drafted in 2019, he's actually only been beaten 4 times in a row once.

So not really wrong to say, almost technically correct.

Still very little pressure for them. If they lose game 5, doubt creeps in and they HAVE to win game 6. If they lose 3 straight, all bets are off and crowd in Boston will be going nuts at trying to make history and going back to the finals

Pressure comes in game 6 imo

I’m glad we’re not getting swept (god I hope no collapse) but I’m so mad that this wasn’t there for the first 3 games. Like are the Heat just dicking around to own Boston fans one last time?

Trade for IT, injury. Trade for Kyrie, injury. Trade for Kemba, injury. Trade for Dame, what could go wrong?

I didn’t say that, but trading 2-3 starters is not the answer when the return for all of those guys is not what you think it would be. No conference finalist has ever turned over half their roster and gotten better

I don’t disagree it was a charge, but why is this kind of guess a charge drawn, but guessing on a screen and beating the ball handler to a spot never called an offensive foul? Is it not defined as a legal guarding position?

Fwiw what Martin did there should be a charge every time and they should give more leeway to defenders on those kinds of plays where the offensive player initiates the contact

Go to the trade machine, tell me what you come up with and then take a look at the roster and let me know if it’s any better. I bet you it’s not. Horrendous take

So Martin falls before he even makes contact with Grant, it’s a defensive foul. Alright

Brogdon’s shot selection is so bad at times, I know he won 6MOY but am I crazy for thinking he’s the guard that has to go, not Smart?

Not sure how official it is, but Crafted NBA lists the “length” at 4th only behind Mo Bamba, THT and Jalen Williams so I believe relative to height, the only big man where he doesn’t have as massively disproportionate of a wingspan is Mo Bamba, if I’m interpreting that correctly.

Overall wingspan listed at 14th

After so many years in the league, why do Tatum and Brown still have such lackluster ballhandling and playmaking skills? by JaylenTatumTheThird in bostonceltics

[–]CarBallAlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tatum TOV% in the playoffs: 12.2%. This year is 10%

Brown TOV% in the playoffs: 12.1%. This year is 14.1%

Paul George TOV% in the playoffs: 14.2%. This year was 13.2%

Paul Pierce TOV% in the playoffs: 14.2%. 2008 he was at 15.5%

That’s just kind of how these wings that initiate the offense are. It’s hard to be that tall and shifty and have a tight handle. It’s much more rare to have a guy like Kawhi or Jordan who just turn it over less. Sometimes they make boneheaded mistakes but there aren’t a lot of wings that are asked to do what they do and don’t have similar issues

Obviously we aren’t getting McDaniels, but what do you think you guys would trade if we sent Pritchard or Brogdon to you guys? Not both, but 2 separate trade scenarios

The league is in a good place with parity right now by CarBallAlex in nba

I think with the new CBA and trade salary rules for tax paying teams and having a minimum salary spending requirement, it will be difficult for teams to acquire 3 All-Star level talents through trades or have the cap space for 2 max slots, at least for the next 6 or so years.

Players will have to take pay cuts to form super teams or they will have to be drafted to that team like how the Spurs built theirs. My guess is there are certain teams that will always be good like the Bucks have been over the last several years, but for one team to dominate a conference the way LeBron did to the East or the Warriors did to the West I don’t think will happen in the short-term, but this is obviously just a guess.
