There is a LFG thing on Xbox where you "post" the LFG and what you want to do and people can join you. It is ok for boss rotations.

Telemetry needs to be implemented at code level. You could also try to get some metrics but no idea what framework are you using, if quarkus or spring boot look into generating Prometheus metrics. For telemetry you could use open telemetry but again it needs to be implemented at code level.

When do you consider that you are "done" with the season?

Doing the season rep, killing Lilith the first time and killing any tormented bosses.

No dude, I play on console and PC, it doesn't split on consoles at all, that's why I say the devs don't play on consoles. Don't assume things based on your ignorance of the console issues, it isn't a player issue. The menues are different from console and PC in many areas.

I'm comparing diablo 4 to other diablo games, D4 is the only one with this issue.

Also, on consoles, interact and basic skills are the same button, even if you change it, it won't solve anything it will just use the other button instead and the same problem.

I'm convinced that no dev on blizzard plays on console at all or don't care because this is one of the main nuisance of playing with controllers.

This, and doors, wtf is with blizzards and doors EVERYWHERE in every dungeon, our characters can demolish the horde of hells but doors need to be opened... So annoying. And if there is a mob around and you are on controller you can't open the damn door until the mob is dead because it isnt smart enough.

Longhorn storage newbie questions

koshrf
replied to Asad2k6

You could use the iSCSI CSI if the NAS provides iSCSI interfaces (Like FreeNAS/TrueNAS or Synology). You could also use the NFS CSI but I don't recommend it if you can have an iSCSI.

Yes it can coexist with any other CSI you just need to tell on your manifest your storage class and choose from the ones available.

Tool to debug pending pod

koshrf
replied to redrefe

If it were "resolveable" it would not be on pending state. If no node can schedule the pod it will remain in pending until there is enough resources to schedule it. It is up to you to know your own infrastructure and your taints and why it is being pending.

Ansible AWX failed to connect to the host via ssh

Just exec on one of the awx pods, I think the awx-task one have Ansible installed, you could also launch an awx-ee pod by hand and try to use it

Failed to connect to the host means exactly that, it can't reach the other side on the network. Check your inventory and check if the hosts and pods can reach the other side.

PersistentVolumes and NFS Question

koshrf
commented

The node mounts the NFS and then it is used by the pod like if it were local.

If your node didn't have an NFS client it would give you an error that it can't do mount.nfs

K8s just abstract the volumes so the pods don't need to know what backed are you using by your volumes, this is done via an CSI.

How to send application metircs data to Prometheus by OpenTelemetry?

koshrf
commented

You don't need a collector if you have a Prometheus-community installed in the same cluster, just use a scrapperconfig for externals

https://prometheus-operator.dev/docs/developer/scrapeconfig

And use servicemonitor for internals.

Ansible Automation Platform and Vaults

koshrf
replied to HayabusaJack

Ah, I tough you mean an awx cli. Yeah that's the Ansible playbook.

You need to include the vars files and use a vault credential on awx. If it doesn't work is probably because it is a pre task with a conditional but give it a try.

Add the vault key as credentials and add it to the project, everytime it finds something crypted with vault it will use the credentials.

What Alternatives to Rancher in 2024?

koshrf
replied to skaven81

I think he is confused.

https://github.com/rancher/rancher/releases/tag/v2.8.5

Here is the latest 2.8.X which is an open/free release for example, and the upgrades will be coming until 2.9.0 is fully released then the new versions of 2.8.X will require a subscription (they call it prime) and it will use their private repository.

This isn't new, it is the model they adapted since 2.7.

There will be open/free upgrades in 2.9 too until 2.10 is released.

We just upgraded two weeks ago to the latest 2.8 without a subscription.

What 2.8 won't do is support higher K8s versions, it will stick to the latest supported on that version, if you want to keep the Rancher version but upgrade to the latest K8s supported then you will have to have a subscription, I think that's what he meant.

Extra: the source code is open source, you could always compile it yourself if you want, the branches and code are always there, what they do on the subscription is offer a compiled version (and support) using their own private registry.

What Alternatives to Rancher in 2024?

koshrf
replied to skaven81

I think you either got explained wrong or it wasn't clear how it works (since 2.7.X), SuSE/Rancher gives free/open access to any releases for a period of time (usually the 6months of K8s releases), after that time since K8s downstream doesn't do any fixes and it is EOL for the version of K8s then SuSE offers another 6-12months subscription plan where they patch anything that needs to be patched and offer this as a "prime" subscription.

So, if for example 2.9.0 supports K8s 1.30.X and a patch makes it to 1.30.X then 2.9.X will keep up to it for the duration of the 1.30 EOL, after EOL any new version of 2.9 will require a subscription, but you have also the option to upgrade for new versions of rancher.

For non-paying users of Rancher, you just need to upgrade every 4-6months. And that's only for Rancher the UI, you can upgrade RKE2/K3s anytime you want.

What Alternatives to Rancher in 2024?

Just going to comment on the MachineSet, most of the time it works, but it isn't as magic as you describe it, for example if you had OpenShift since 4.1 (even if it is updated to the latest version) you can't just install a new node with the image that the cluster tells you to use because the new images create certificates different so it doesn't join the cluster, you have to use an specific version with an specific configuration (that is different from the original) that can join and then patch it by hand so it can be upgraded to the latest version and this is an old "bug" that won't be fixed because you will have to recreate the cluster.

I like OpenShift but the maintenance can be a nuisance sometimes when thing changes and RedHat make you go in a support hell loop between "specialists" that don't know what is going on until you land on a guy after a month of tickets that knows what is going on.
