I think a good avatar game is possible BUT it wouldn’t be about the avatar. You start the game, you make your character and pick an element and then the main story starts.

Kinda like hogwarts legacy.

My son is 6 and, as a big avatar fan, he absolutely loved this game. But when he asked for my help there were a ton of glitches and bugs that made it VERY rough. Wouldn’t recommend it for anyone over 10 lol.

The best "Avatar Game" out there is called Wizard of Legend.

It has nothing to do with the Avatar IP, but if you want a game with good combat based on elemental attacks that look like bending, that's by far your best bet.

I bought this game full price on release date and played it to the end. Did not try to achieve 100%.

That said- here’s my very optimistic review… the game is based on the re-telling of the story of the avatar and the 100 year war. Someone from the Ember Island Players company approaches Iroh, Bumi, and Paku as they are enjoying some tea so they can retell the story more accurately. Some of the puzzles are fun. The “adventure” part of the game is super lame. The fighting is kinda cool/fun once you get accustomed to it. There’s a boss fight after every level and they are extremely repetitive. Aside from the main Gaang, you get to play as Iroh, Bumi, Suki, and the Blue Spirit, so that’s cool.

All in all- I had fun with it bc I love Avatar and wanted to support. I downloaded the digital copy and it was so buggy the game would crash while I was in the middle of playing. I thought this may have been exclusive to the digital copies, but the comments here would lead me to believe it’s just the game.

Would I replay this game- absolutely not.

Would I recommend this game - maybe if they make it free on Gamepass or PSN. Would not recommend anyone pay any price, let alone full price for this game.

My wife bought this for me at Christmas to play with our 8 year old and get him interested in the avatar universe. As that, it’s been great. As a game it’s not good. The multiplayer is very poorly done. I wouldn’t play with anyone other than my kiddo.

People REALLY hate the game, and for good reason, but the hate is definitely blown out of proportion a bit by people who have never played it. It’s not worth full retail, but if it’s discounted then I think it’s fun enough to play through a bit if you’re bored. Certainly nothing great with really repetitive combat and uninspired graphics, but it’s still just a licensed kids game. It really feels like the OG Avatar games from when the show was first airing. If you played those and want a bit of that nostalgia then it’s worth it too

This game is unironically one of the worst games of 2023, and I mean that. It has the quality of an early 2000’s movie tie-in game, in terms of gameplay, graphics, and voice acting. Genuinely, it feels like it’s straight from 2007. Sections of the game unironically include Subway Surfer style levels, where you’re on a set path and must move left or right to avoid obstacles. The combat seems incredibly mindless, as do the puzzles.

This is down there with the freaking Gamemill games in terms of quality. Stay away from this game
