The NBA is not a serious league.

This Warriors-Lakers game went from an exciting back-and-forth between two all-time greats in primetime to an absolute joke. Two lengthy reviews that seemed to cancel each other out, followed by multiple clock malfunctions have brought it to a screeching halt. A shame to see a compelling game lose steam over avoidable crap. This would never happen in the NFL unless there was a blackout or someone died on the field.

Khris Middleton’s back and Bobby Portis playing at home, and the suns playing horrendous defense, the perfect storm as the bucks are on pace to break their own all time record for threes in a game

LOCKS OF THE DAY NBA DFS 3/17

Made money on DFS tonight, show down saved me but i got absolutely wrecked in props tonight. Tomorrows slate is absolutely disgusting off first look but boston news is gonna shake up the slate, harden news could get you some really incredible plays at low ownership since i suspect everyone will be jamming celtics tomorrow. ill dig deeper into harden tomorrow and let u guys know if i think he plays or not.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0vtRhTcdE4&feature=youtu.be

If discord is something you are interested in, Will have a link below where i have in-depth content going over each slate, player pools for cash/gpps. cores and much more.

https://www.patreon.com/shookdfs

Edit: brown/zingus/white out - love tatum, love jrue, horford solid. love hauser, love pritchard.

Edit: ill make updates about wizards once we get a lineup

Edit:

Lineup alert: Wizards will start Poole, Champagnie, Kispert, Baldwin Jr., Holmes on Sunday.

really like poole, i still really like butler off the bench, holmes looks very good, kispert is fine, baldwin very solid value, champ very solid value, eugene firmly in play, dont love much else.

ranking PPD - poole, champ, butler, holmes, baldwin, eugene, kispert PPD

Edit:

celtics are starting Lineup alert: Celtics will start Holiday, Hauser, Brissett, Tatum, Horford on Sunday.

only change here is i like brissett a ton for value and downgrade pritch. pritch still good value esp if playing for blowout

Who are the Nba Media Voters? Are they really the most qualified to decide who wins the Major NBA Awards?

Who are the Nba Media Voters? Are they really the most qualified to decide who wins the Major NBA Awards?

I got curious on who are the nba media voters who always vote and decide who wins MVP, DPOY, ROY, All Nbas, and all nba awards in a season.

So, I checked last year who are they. And I collected some confirmed voter names from Espn, Fox, The Athletic, and SI.

2023 NBA MEDIA VOTERS

ESPN - Stephen A, Zach Lowe, Brian Windhorst, Kendrick Perkins, JJ Redick, Jalen Rose, Kevin Pelton, Mike Wilbon, Mike Greenberg,

FOX - Chris Brousard, Ric Bucher

THE RINGER - Bill Simmons, Ryen Russillo, Kevin Oconnor, Michael Pina

THE ATHLETIC - Sam Amick, Jovan Buha

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED - Chris Mannix, Chris Herring

PS: These voters are more likely to be a voter again this season. In fact, Broussard just admiited and confirmed that he is a voter again this season.

Do you think someone should not be a voter? Or do you have a media member in mind who should have a vote?

What do you think?

How difficult is it to truly get drafted and make the NBA?

I know this question can vary because when it comes to making the NBA you also have to factor in the specific person you are talking about such as height, weight, athleticism etc.

However as best as someone can generally explain it how good do you have to be to have a straight path and then get drafted to the league?

When I mean straight path I mean playing all throughout your middle school, high school and college years then getting drafted. How hard is it to do that?

Also when I think about players specifically I think about someone like Payton Prichard he's only 6'1 yet he was able to have the straight path and make it to the NBA.

I'm personally 6'3 and I still would have a hard time making it to the league at my height.

There aren't that many 6'1 people in the NBA like him so I am wondering how difficult it is to make the league and how someone like him was able to do it at his height?

Trae Young has dunked a total of zero times in six NBA seasons.

Maybe this is obvious, he’s not a leaper, but I still find it surprising he hasn’t dunked even once playing 34+ minutes a night for six years. You’d think he’d try to get at least one on an open fastbreak in a blowout or something, just for the fun of it. But it’s never happened.

Even Tre Jones has 4 NBA dunks. Joining him is T.J. McConnell (0 dunks in 9 years) and Chris Paul since 2016 outside of 1 playoff dunk.

The Houston Rockets have Quietly won 5 straight games and are just 3.5 games back of the #9 seed in the west. In those 5 games they have the #7 ranked offense and #2 ranked defense in the NBA.

Once again a Ime Udoka team is coming on strong at the end of the season, with the Rockets in particular having a great chance of continuing this win streak and possibly fighting for the play in Spot against Warriors/Lakers by the end.

Their upcoming schedule is :-

Wizards, Bulls, Jazz, Blazers, Thunder, Jazz, Mavericks, Twolves, Warriors, Heat, Mavericks, Magic, Jazz, Blazers, Clippers.

Obviously it's not easy as they still are atleast 3 games back of the Lakers in the loss column, with no games left against them, but seeing that schedule I can see them easily going 10-5 if they play upto their level. I mean in the Last 5 games alone they have beaten the Kings and Cavs, so clearly they are capable of competing with teams situated higher up as well.

Outside of Sengun, they are also getting pretty healthy stretch out of everyone else, and Jabari Smith Jr. Is doing extremely well at Center.

Why is Jokic considered a "finesse" player and not considered "physically imposing" when he is one of the most physical centers in the NBA? And what makes a player a "finesse" player?

Jokic is one of, if not the most physical player in the NBA cause of how much he is in the paint, and he is not just a "paint" player but how he operates in the paint, post ups, using his size and strength to bully smaller centers, or even big ones. Deandre Ayton literally was complaining that his torso was hurting because of how much Jokic was posting him up in the playoffs and went out from Game6 cause of how Physical Jokic is (And then bruce brown kneed his already hurt Torso)

I thought "physically imposing" players impose their size and will to the defender which he does, but he is still labeled a "finesse" player.

The best guard in the East (according to All-NBA voting) has been different almost every year since 2013

The best guard in the East (according to All-NBA voting) has been different almost every year since 2013
  • 2013 - Dwyane Wade (All-NBA 3rd team)

  • 2014 - John Wall (did not make All-NBA)

  • 2015 - Kyrie Irving (All-NBA 3rd team)

  • 2016 - Kyle Lowry (All-NBA 3rd team)

  • 2017 - Isaiah Thomas (All-NBA 2nd team)

  • 2018 - DeMar DeRozan (All-NBA 2nd team)

  • 2019 - Kyrie Irving (All-NBA 2nd team)

  • 2020 - Ben Simmons (All-NBA 3rd team)

  • 2021 - Bradley Beal (All-NBA 3rd team)

  • 2022 - Trae Young (All-NBA 3rd team)

  • 2023 - Donovan Mitchell (All-NBA 2nd team)

Only Kyrie Irving has been the best guard in the East twice in this timespan. Brunson or Haliburton seem very likely to extend this streak for another year.
