A gaming sub free from the news, hype and drama that surround current releases, catering instead to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.
I have just finished Alice: Madness Returns for the first time in almost 10 years. I'm impressed by how great the game still feels. The aesthetics, gameplay and overall feel of the game is great. For a game that covers traumatic experiences and abuse it does so perfectly. Vague but not so vague that it's lost on you. Also, worth noting that it is a pretty dark game with some pretty messed up themes.
Every level in the game feels new and interesting. The addition of a new dress every chapter is also very nice and makes Alice fit in to the part of Wonderland she's currently in. And just goes to show just how strong the aesthetics of this game is.
Every game also introduces new enemies. Which prevents the game from becoming too repetitive. Some enemies are returning while others are new but with mechanics similiar to ones you already know.
Because yes, the game might start to feel a little bit repetitive. However, I didn't mind because of the new enemies each chapter, the story and the collect-a-thon this game also is. Exploring every nook and cranny of the place you're currently in kept the game fresh for me.
Speaking of collectables, I personally love collecting stuff in games. But as I already mentioned, if you didn't collect all the memories or at least relevant memories, the game will still let you know what's important through it's unmissable cut scenes. So there's no reason to be scared of missing out. The game is after all about Alice figuring out little by little how the events actually happened.
This game is something that is really important to me. I have dealt with mental health issues for the most of my life. Both this and the first game really helped me feeling less alone. And gave me hope that you can in fact conquer your demons. I haven't played through the first game since I was about 14, so that might be next on my list. But I highly recommened looking into these games if you haven't already.

I have not played it yet but I'm very very excited to and don't really care if it's janky or graphically dated, but it would be really cool to see sll the beautiful landscapes and environments in a remastered HD polished version.
