SVG couldn't say Antetokounmpo the whole game he tried it a bunch of different ways.

The Bucks with Pat and Khris are going to be tough to beat. They almost shat the bed. Philly really could've won this

[–]dashdigi 635 points636 points  (24 children)

it’s crazy how long giannis been in the nba and people still can’t pronounce his last name, especially SVG who gets paid to commentate on games 🤦‍♂️

[–]SwipeRight4Wholesome 327 points328 points  (7 children)

Even more so considering how big of a star he is. I can see mispronouncing his name if he was a role player, but dude is multiple MVP, DPY, and finals MVP. Gotta show him some respect

[–]Bucksuristmcderp 56 points57 points  (3 children)

I've noticed with people who have never been exposed to a foreign language while growing up basically have audio dyslexia when trying to pronounce foreign sounds. Like they know they sound wrong, but they don't know how to fix it and it sounds close enough to them.

[–]Warriorsakelkar 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Audio dyslexia lmao.

It’s true tho I think, I grew up bilingual and I think it still helped me learn Spanish in school and pronounce words in a not so gringo way

[–][HOU] Alperen Şengünanthonyde726 97 points98 points  (4 children)

SVG couldn't say Antetokounmpo the whole game he tried it a bunch of different ways.

bro was saying antetekonmpwogh all game

[–]Bullszili91 51 points52 points  (3 children)

When he started muttering that weird af pronunciation I really thought that Giannis had switched the spelling of his family name back to the original Adetokunbo and SVG was somehow trying to pronounce it correctly lol

[–][ATL] Dominique WilkinsCounterInsanity 3959 points3960 points  (241 children)

No Middleton for the Bucks, no bench for the Sixers for the 2nd game in a row. Harden already playing over 40 minutes and it's only the 2nd game lol.

[–][WAS] Wes UnseldTurbo2x 1777 points1778 points  (138 children)

for all the talk about the Sixers offseason their bench looks absolutely awful so far. Harris also seems worse than usual

[–]rags2rads2riches 434 points435 points  (38 children)

Harris is in such an awkward position. He’s obviously the third (maybe 4th) option and has to yield to the other dudes

[–][WAS] Wes UnseldTurbo2x 376 points377 points  (32 children)

Realistically, his greatest contribution to the Sixers now is as a trade piece, but whenever he gets touches to try and build his value back up he looks atrocious. That contract blows my mind whenever I think about it. It's a waste.

[–]KingsDemonicDimples 140 points141 points  (6 children)

He’s not really a trade piece though. You’re certainly not going to get a player back that’s as good as Tobias because the Sixers have no picks to trade to incentivize a team.

You’re primarily looking at guys who are on just as bad contracts that have injury concern, like Gordon Hayward or something like that. Harris is pretty clearly a role player and makes about 15m too much.

[–]Ranjith_Unchained 286 points287 points  (22 children)

There's a reason Jimmy yelled, Tobias Harris over me?

[–]Trail BlazersMrOrangeWhips 52 points53 points  (8 children)

Imagine a Harden, Maxey, Jimmy, Embiid lineup.

[–][MIA] Dwyane WadeMagnetronaap 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, I will not

[–]junkit33 504 points505 points  (37 children)

Their bench is terrible. I really don’t understand how anyone thought otherwise. No 6th man at all. Not even a 7th man. All 8-10 guys.

[–]Timberwolvesnotafan1 389 points390 points  (16 children)

Melton's a good player. Harrell should be decent in the regular season. IDK bout anyone else.

[–]Grizzliesmartonio-30 234 points235 points  (0 children)

Melton would be more effective if they played with any pace but between harden and embiid getting anything in transition is basically not an option

[–]junkit33 135 points136 points  (11 children)

I like Melton. 8th men are still good players, but he’s no 6th man.

Don’t get me started on Harrell. Not a winning player at all.

[–]Celticssoxandpatriots1 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Melton was 5th in minutes last season for a pretty good Memphis team, and the team performed better with him on the court than when he was on the bench.

Harrell has limitations for sure but has also been a ~25 mpg player on some good teams (Clippers).

Normally, I think those two guys should be decent 6th/7th options, especially when you consider Philly’s starting lineup is (theoretically) on the high end.

[–]Grizzliesthedrcubed 88 points89 points  (4 children)

Melton is really good he's just not a microwave scorer like most teams 6th man. He's a good shooter and great defender on guards

[–][MIL] Giannis AntetokounmpoWIN011 350 points351 points  (54 children)

Jrue also thought he was still playing for Philly

[–]Vackrich 132 points133 points  (3 children)

Dude can't get the ball into the hoop which every bucks used to but his stud defence is what kept him on the floor

[–]Buckslucasj 20 points21 points  (0 children)

His defense was killer.

[–]JazzGobert3ptShooter 45 points46 points  (20 children)

geez, what was up with him lol, awful shooting

[–][MIL] Giannis AntetokounmpoWIN011 160 points161 points  (11 children)

He does this sometimes. Just glad the elite defense and passing remains when his scoring falls off.

[–]BucksNeuroxex 147 points148 points  (5 children)

That defense in the 4th was genuinely incredible. I will not stop linking this clip.

[–]IsaKitty00 51 points52 points  (2 children)

Yea Doc even smacked him on the ass after that play lol. Dude is a beast. His offense is so much better when Middleton plays.

[–]Bucksh20c 70 points71 points  (5 children)

Jrue is the type of dude to just drop 4/22 or some shit every 7th game or so.

[–]MavericksLukaDoncicBigPP 91 points92 points  (3 children)

Jrue shot like shit and Middleton is out and the Sixers still can't win lmfao

[–]WarriorsScarlet_Breeze 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Just continuing his offence from the playoffs

[–]BucksKobe_AYEEEEE 143 points144 points  (17 children)

That's like 70 percent of jrue games tbh

[–]BucksMidnight_Oil_ 72 points73 points  (1 child)

But man, those other 30% though 🤩🤩🤩

[–]BucksKobe_AYEEEEE 86 points87 points  (0 children)

The defense is every night and that's all we need

[–]SpursEggplantBusiness 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Without Middleton mainly , when he is the third option at least it's decent in regular season

[–]Bucksmati_as15 20 points21 points  (2 children)

No, he was great last (regular) season

[–]CelticsFlyingMocko 207 points208 points  (5 children)

Bro left Houston so he doesn’t have to carry anymore yet he was expected to do so in Brooklyn and is doing so in Philly too.

Craziest thing is he took a pay cut for this. Embiid needs to compensate Hardern for his dogshit performance tonight.

[–]SunsWatson8555 93 points94 points  (3 children)

It’s only 2 games but harden looks like the best sixer by a huge margin so far, he looks like he’s back to elite all nba form. Some other dudes needa step up tho I’m not sure he can carry a team every night playing 40mins a game like he used to.

[–]NetsKwilly462 56 points57 points  (4 children)

Harden: "KD, you up?"

[–][WAS] John WallIm_a_Knob 44 points45 points  (1 child)

Harden: “fuck that flat earther that you think you love”

[–]Warriorsyooossshhii 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m just sayin, you can do better

[–]OverusedRedditJoke 2199 points2200 points  (126 children)

Embiid needs to get his shit together

Look at the contrast in engagement between Giannis and Embiid

[–]doubleoh72 406 points407 points  (22 children)

Embiid looks super disengaged and bored at times. Very frustrating to watch as a fan. His motivations jumps up and down like a see-saw. And he seems to be going back to bad habits, trying to draws fouls rather than trying to finish.

[–]Buckspensivewombat 90 points91 points  (14 children)

Embiid can be frustrating to watch but I still felt like it was wild that he was getting booed by his home crowd. Even for Philly that seemed harsh two games into the season.

[–]Celticsprison_mic 147 points148 points  (6 children)

They're losing and he's not trying. He should get booed. especially for a guy who thinks he belongs in the best player in the league conversation.

[–][deleted] 469 points470 points  (31 children)

Giannis didn't even play well by his standards at all and was still 10x better than Embiid

[–]3illyEdgar 289 points290 points  (27 children)

I think Giannis played great though, just cos he only scored 21 points cos he shot less than usual, he was still elite defensively and playmaking

[–]grdshtr78 146 points147 points  (12 children)

I think he was a little too passive offensively. There was a long stretch when Embiid was on the bench. And Giannis let Tucker and Tobias keep him out of the lane. He needs to punish smaller lineups

[–]BucksUnsuspectingS1ut 179 points180 points  (10 children)

I get a feel they’re trying to get the rest of the team in rhythm, Giannis will be Giannis when it really matters.

[–]Buckspensivewombat 63 points64 points  (10 children)

I think it was intentional, too. He wants to see some other guys step up while Khris is out.

[–]Apprehensive_Oil_484 613 points614 points  (39 children)

Idk why this guy doesn’t go in the paint and play bully ball instead of hesitating and settling for jumpers. Honestly pathetic

[–]AustraliaWasProbablyBanned 478 points479 points  (8 children)

He tried, he just got his shit stuffed from the bucks rim protection.

[–]BucksJohn_Lives 307 points308 points  (7 children)

Yeah, this has been one of his worst match ups for awhile now. Since Lopez joined the Bucks, Embiid is at 49.37% TS when he plays

[–]AustraliaWasProbablyBanned 160 points161 points  (0 children)

tbh his dogshit conditioning did him no favors either. The play where he tried to bully Giannis to the rim was a good example, he got blocked because when he actually got to the rim and went up to dunk it he jumped like 3 inches off the ground

[–]RaptorsXenaRen 46 points47 points  (4 children)

For a MVP candidate he seems to have a lot of bad matchups.... The Bucks with Lopez, Raptors with Gasol and he's never played well against the Celtics either IIRC.

[–]BucksSwaggyD54 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Tbf that raptors team with gasol crushed everyone defensively

[–]BucksTwoModernHippies 212 points213 points  (1 child)

Because he can’t bully Brook Lopez and Giannis, they might be the best front court in the league to handle him

[–]Lakerswhiskeyinthejaar 138 points139 points  (9 children)

He is taking the AD route. He just need to bulk up a little more

[–]WarriorsKdog122025 38 points39 points  (1 child)

Isn’t Embiid already 280 at least? He’ll destroy his knees if he gets bigger.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Dude's out of shape, that's why.

[–]lastofthe_meheecans 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because he can’t bully Giannis and lopez and also the Celtics and the bucks are two of the best defenses in the nba. Everytime he touched the ball in the paint in the last two games there were 3 bodies surrounding him minimum

[–]Washington Bulletslenflakisinski 73 points74 points  (9 children)

I have no idea how Embiid managed to convince the media he was MVP over Giannis last year

[–]Bucks-raiin- 1886 points1887 points  (73 children)

The Bucks are in desperate need of a 6’8” two way shot creator

[–]Buckstjspill3r 823 points824 points  (15 children)

If only there was such a man on the roster

[–]BucksNeuroxex 291 points292 points  (10 children)

Technically we have two.

[–]BucksAaronrigunay 124 points125 points  (9 children)

3*

[–]BucksNeuroxex 105 points106 points  (7 children)

Fuck, you're right, I forgot about Nwora.

[–]BucksAaronrigunay 163 points164 points  (6 children)

I don't think Nwora and Two-way belong together.

[–][MIL] Jrue HolidayAsiracy 48 points49 points  (3 children)

1: Catch

2: Shoot

[–]BucksLikeablechops 63 points64 points  (1 child)

Nah but have you ever seen Nwora in a three-way?

[–]United Statesnicklovin508 378 points379 points  (22 children)

Can this mystery man torch the Celtics every time he plays?

[–]Bucksdatsoar 81 points82 points  (0 children)

He has and he will

[–][deleted] 100 points101 points  (9 children)

Ooooh keep going ;)

[–]Supersonicsfetuswut 200 points201 points  (1 child)

[–]a_dex 91 points92 points  (0 children)

They would pay the max for someone like that.

[–]BucksiiDanks 112 points113 points  (5 children)

[–]Warriorszachmoss147 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Georgy porgy?

[–]Grizzliesdonotnut459 53 points54 points  (2 children)

[–]PistonsInternCautious 28 points29 points  (2 children)

We'll trade you Cory Joseph, close enough

[–]BucksNeuroxex 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Ingles work on your rehab please.

[–][deleted] 808 points809 points  (12 children)

Brook is back

[–]Timberwolveskpruiz 529 points530 points  (9 children)

Guy is the Lebron of role players, mans is just not aging.

[–]BucksUnsuspectingS1ut 224 points225 points  (5 children)

I really expected a bigger effect from having a second major surgery (and on his back no less), I’ve been pleasantly surprised to be wrong

[–]KnicksMikeFrancesa66 53 points54 points  (3 children)

Does Robin still play or are they just harvesting body parts from him to keep Brook in top form?

[–]WarriorsTrainedExplains 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Robin still plays. Still a solid defender and plus offensive player. Just hard to find a role without really stretching the floor.

[–]BucksGriffan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Having them both on the team was so fun. Fuck

[–]Timberwolveskpruiz 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Same, just looks good as new even after every injury.

Didn’t think I’d see him catch a lob dunk today.

[–]76ersindoninjah 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I had to look up how old he is, since he's literally the franchise leader for the Nets and has also been very good for the Bucks for like 5 years now

[–]BucksAaronrigunay 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's Wes Matthews

[–]BucksLaudrenFareoh 406 points407 points  (4 children)

Ah yes, a classic Harden vs Giannis matchup, the 2019 MVP race looking tough!

[–]CelticsDarth-Baul 165 points166 points  (1 child)

30+ points from Harden? Check

40+ minutes? Check

Bucks win? Check

Yep, it’s 2019

[–]BucksSwaggyD54 26 points27 points  (1 child)

No whipping the ball in hardens face tho

[–]Heatsivervipa 546 points547 points  (13 children)

I mean…The Bucks just look like a really good team. Their chemistry is great.

[–]BucksTheTVDB 232 points233 points  (5 children)

Agree, but that string of horrible turnovers and missed shots in the 4th was absolutely painful.

[–]Buckswrestlingchampo 201 points202 points  (2 children)

That's some quality regular season Bucks basketball my friend

[–]BucksTopOfTheMorning2Ya 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Idk all the missed 3s and Jrue going 1 for 50 looked like Bucks playoff basketball to me

[–]ShaoShaoTenks 13 points14 points  (1 child)

To be fair, that is the Bucks special especially in the playoffs. They somehow perform like shit on the first 6-7 minutes of the 4th quarter and the lead might as well be double digits but by time 1 minute is left, the game is tied or close. Then they more often than not, just close it.

If you think about it, Jrue, Middleton and Giannis are three dudes you can trust on clutch time.

[–][MIL] Bill ZopfFKJVMMP 152 points153 points  (4 children)

It’s been damn near the exact same team for three years, aside from the Warriors starting lineup there shouldn’t be any team that can match our chemistry.

[–]Raptors-HeisenBird- 25 points26 points  (1 child)

It was a real shame losing Middleton last year. I really wanted to see you guys go up against the Warriors.

[–]NetsTokennn 908 points909 points  (53 children)

Hardens midrange and in the paint shots were so damn good

[–]SpursGGezpzMuppy 412 points413 points  (15 children)

He looks soo ready this year.

[–]CelticsAdmiralWackbar 334 points335 points  (9 children)

It’s too bad he’s being held back by Embiid

[–]NuggetsChokePaul3 72 points73 points  (1 child)

Sixers wanted the wrong star to go back to MVP level

[–]BucksAliceBones 101 points102 points  (3 children)

Straight murdering us. Tobias Harris lost Philly the game with those two defensive plays.

[–]76ers420Minions 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Lot of guys can own this loss. Tons of missed looks and awful plays. If they won, only Harden could claim it. Embarrassing

[–]Knicksslyguy183[🍰] 76 points77 points  (12 children)

I'm actually angry Houston didn't let Harden shoot middies like this. How many times was he wide open in the playoffs and did unnecessary stepbacks to 3

[–][HOU] Steve Francis2ToTooTwoFish 37 points38 points  (3 children)

Yeah and at that time his 3 point shooting was way better. Add the midrange to his arsenal and he'd be even more unstoppable.

[–]SunsHesiPullup 116 points117 points  (11 children)

I always loved Rockets Harden because the Suns were always trash during his legendary years.

It makes me so happy to see him playing like this and not washed

[–]SunsWatson8555 62 points63 points  (9 children)

Seems he was totally right and he was just never fully healthy the last 1 1/2 yrs, seems his hammy is 100% now and he looks quicker and can decelerate extremely well again, creating more space on his step back too. He probably won’t be mvp harden but he’s lookin back to elite all nba form and it’s great to see.

[–][HOU] Alperen Şengünanthonyde726 39 points40 points  (7 children)

the mid-range game coming out is beautiful though, if only he pulled it out more in his rockets days lol

[–]BucksThe-Taco-Between-Us 400 points401 points  (12 children)

There is no way the drop off between George Hill and Thanasis is this wide.

[–]BucksDr-Denim 147 points148 points  (2 children)

Just be happy Carter got the start

[–]Shoddy-Anteater3510 55 points56 points  (1 child)

Carter should have played more in the celtics series instead of hill

[–]Bucksimbidy 35 points36 points  (0 children)

He was playing so damn well

I hope he gets a ton of minutes this year

[–]Hemwum 218 points219 points  (5 children)

Once Connaughton, Ingles, and Middleton are back, you'd expect that Hill plays less (please dear god be true). Also, much rather Jevon Carter than Hill

[–]WarriorsThe_Summer_Man 150 points151 points  (0 children)

please dear Deer God

[–]Buckspensivewombat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Plus hopefully Marjon earns Bud's trust. I didn't expect to see him if everyone was healthy, but sort of surprised by no minutes when we are down two wings

[–]Armedinar 928 points929 points  (72 children)

Explain to me again why they can't review who touched the ball last at such a crucial time ? That seems really dumb to me

[–]BucksSuperflissbro 491 points492 points  (36 children)

Their reason for getting rid of it was "to speed up the end of games"

[–]Armedinar 339 points340 points  (0 children)

Which is even dumber because they had a whole time-out to just watch their screen for 15 seconds

[–]RaptorsDazzling-Emu2105 133 points134 points  (8 children)

they should add something like VAR so they refs don't have to stop the game to look at the screens but still make right call regarding deflections and what not

[–]Trail BlazersSquirting_Nachos 84 points85 points  (11 children)

Why even have a replay center if they aren't going to use it. The lead official should have an earpiece and be on a constant phonecall with someone from the replay center for the last 3-4 minutes of every close game.

That call was so obvious that someone in the replay center could just double check it really quick and then whisper the answer into the lead officials ear and he could change the call. There is no downside other than the ego's of the officials on the floor taking a hit if they miss an obvious call.

If the replay center person needs more than 15-20 seconds to know with 100% certainty then that means the call is close enough to just let it slide and I wouldn't mind so much. It just doesn't make sense for these SUPER obvious calls to be wrong.

[–]grdshtr78 52 points53 points  (7 children)

Refs union fought hard against using the replay center this way. They want the crew working the game to have complete authority over officiating that game. And I guess they don’t want the precedent of someone having the ability to overrule that crew.

Such a dumb reason to not have a useful replay center

[–][deleted] 42 points43 points  (1 child)

It’s so that the game doesn’t slow down but I’d much rather the call he right than for the game to be 30 seconds faster

[–]South SudanProfessional-Sock231 39 points40 points  (1 child)

yeah they don't even a ref to be involved just someone watching tv

[–]Raptorsaps95 26 points27 points  (6 children)

Yeah what the hell? I swear that used to be independent of whether or not the team had a challenge left.

[–]SpursEggplantBusiness 13 points14 points  (1 child)

They changed it last year to "speed up games" now only challenge allow review for those

[–]SpursGGezpzMuppy 312 points313 points  (2 children)

Harden got to have deja Vu, coming in with a great start to the season, but has no help.

[–]Rocketssgtcurry 20 points21 points  (0 children)

:( makes me so damn sad. Finally gets enough rehab time and comes back and still his team shits the bed early in the season.

[–]NBAM_O_N_K_E_SENSEI 109 points110 points  (2 children)

You guys should watch more bucks basketball they either be up by 15 or down by 30 and the game is still gonna be entertaining 💀💀

[–]BucksOutsideTheServiceBox 35 points36 points  (1 child)

If we’re up, we’ll always let the other team come back to give fans heart attacks, and if we’re down, we’ll always get it back to 6ish to give fans false hope.

[–][TOR] OG AnunobyGoalnado 263 points264 points  (17 children)

That has to be one of the worst halves of basketball in Embiid's career, although Harden looks fucking great

[–]shirinsmonkeys 66 points67 points  (15 children)

Lol he's had much worse, particularly against the raps

[–]HeatYoungNissan 91 points92 points  (1 child)

Why can’t the refs change the call if it was obviously wrong? They know it’s wrong and it’s not a hard call to change.

[–]RaptorsKizz3r 615 points616 points  (26 children)

Worst ive seen embiid since he laid an egg against marc gasol

[–]BucksInexorableWaffle 252 points253 points  (3 children)

BroLo - Giannis is about as good of a defensive frontcourt as you can ask for against him, tbh. Lopez isn't anywhere near quick enough to handle Embiid 1 on 1, sure, but he's one of the few dudes that's strong enough to handle him in the post, and Giannis's help defense is still the best in the NBA until proven otherwise. Not a fun combo for him to go against.

[–]RaptorsFlochofBirds 43 points44 points  (1 child)

Yeah he passed to Harden for an iso instead of attacking that stuffed paint multiple times

[–]NBACrash_Bandicool 40 points41 points  (0 children)

J0-11 Embiid goated

[–]Lakersxmrjaredx 108 points109 points  (9 children)

Best I've seen from Harden since a long time

[–]NBANiceguydan8 94 points95 points  (5 children)

Best I've seen from Harden since a long time

Since two days ago? He was better against Boston.

[–][WAS] Wes UnseldTurbo2x 222 points223 points  (7 children)

Embiid looks awful so far

[–]SpursVeniceRapture 73 points74 points  (2 children)

The cut by Grayson Allen into a wide open layup turned this game around. Can't give easy shots

[–]BucksNeuroxex 76 points77 points  (3 children)

That was a fucking excellent game. That was the most fun I've ever had watching James Harden and he was scorching my team.

  • Jrue had a stinker offensively but that was some incredible perimeter defense in the last 6 minutes. Here he is glued to Harden through three consecutive screens and getting a tip to lead to a turnover.

  • Bucks were missing Khris Middleton and Pat Connaughton but the 76ers were missing Embiid so really hard to take much away from this.

  • Seriously Embiid, if you're going to call for nothing but post-ups do you want to do something with them more than a 16 foot fadeaway when you have 2022 Serge Ibaka on you?

  • Bucks said in pre-season they were focussing on limiting three point attempts from opponents, held the 76ers to 88 points and only 24 attempted threes. Budenholzer is feeling frisky.

  • I fucking loved watching James Harden in this game and I did not expect that. The mid-range opens things up so nicely, and the game was only close because of him.

[–]NBAItsKBS 126 points127 points  (4 children)

I feel bad for Harden honestly, what a fucking disaster performance by Joel

[–][MIL] Khris MiddletonLMkingly 283 points284 points  (10 children)

Man Jrue is such a frustrating player to watch on offense and then he locks players up and you remember why he's still on the court.

[–]flossdog 117 points118 points  (8 children)

Jrue could take less shots when's he's cold though. Like if you're 2-8, stop shooting. No one should ever end up 2-15.

[–]TimeDielation 68 points69 points  (3 children)

May I introduce you to Dion Waiters

[–]Bullsmiki_momo0 19 points20 points  (0 children)

But muh Mamba Mentality

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Bud told him to do this and presumably is telling him to still do it. I agree with you, but this is what was decided when Khris went out. Once Middleton is back he should be able to fall back into the 3rd/4th option on offense and put even more energy into defense.

[–]PelicansBalsamic_ducks 178 points179 points  (9 children)

holy hell jrue was bad tonight. Luckily this is probably as bad as he'll play all season

[–]BucksZestycloseResist5594 96 points97 points  (0 children)

0-23 game incoming, thanks 😢

[–]LakersYoungDetective 221 points222 points  (1 child)

quiet game from Giannis and he still puts up 21/13/8 with 3 blocks, crazy

Giannis >>> Embiid

[–][deleted] 124 points125 points  (0 children)

He’s the best player in the world for a reason.

He’s just too good.

[–]TimberwolvesAndrewWonjo 26 points27 points  (2 children)

I'm sorry was this ever a debate?

[–][deleted] 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Embiid looked 5 steps slow

[–]Celticszgamer200 87 points88 points  (7 children)

I'll admit that coming into this season I never would've believed you if you told me that Embiid would be the one letting down Harden against both the C's and the Bucks. PHI with a perfect opportunity to show they can beat arguably the 2 best teams in the East(albeit while both teams are missing major pieces in Robert Williams and Khris Middleton) and couldn't beat either.

[–]76erskweku55 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think the Sixers are gonna have to spend the better part of this first half of the season learning to play with the new roster. But beyond that, in both of these games Embiid has shown a propensity to allow teams to get get him frustrated though leading to poor shots and dumb turnovers. Every time he gets double teamed in the paint and can't get something going down low, he starts either trying to force it, which led to at least 2 blocks, or he settles for the mid range. Realistically he should hit those shots more, but when he's frustrated as he clearly was against Boston and Milwaukee, he is no where near automatic. As a Philly fan, it's frustrating to watch and probably why the crowed started to boo him.

Ball don’t lie

[–]Celticssiva115 45 points46 points  (4 children)

Tyrese Maxey looks like old greg

[–]Thundermccoolio 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Ya ever drank Bailey's from a shoe?

[–]LakersKcidevolew 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Giannis is terrifying

[–]genius-baby 32 points33 points  (4 children)

Hot take: Harden is Phillys best player and will get more MVP votes than Embiid this year

[–]xbarracuda95 29 points30 points  (3 children)

Harden already forced to play 40 mins in the 2nd game of the season because of how bad everyone else is without him.

[–]CelticsRandomBiped 114 points115 points  (6 children)

Completely earnestly the Sixers look like one of the best 0-2 teams in a while

[–]76ersTrue_Web155 40 points41 points  (1 child)

Can’t have too many Philly teams winning at once. Sixers had to take these Ls

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yikes. I don't know about that. At home without Middleton, and we played are ass off and still lost.

[–]BucksAliceBones 409 points410 points  (30 children)

Me, before the fourth quarter: Y'know, Harden hasn't been so bad to watch lately, the new foul rules have made him rely more on his talent, he's still got it.

Me, after the fourth quarter: HITLER HITLER HITLER HITLER

[–]Naive-Air2866 87 points88 points  (1 child)

It was actually entertaining though in a nostalgic kind of way lol.

[–]BucksAliceBones 59 points60 points  (0 children)

He was great, I'm just memeing because he went off on my team.

[–]TimberwolvesSoupyWolfy 41 points42 points  (1 child)

I read the "HITLER"s in the cadence of Eric Andre's "NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE"

[–]Bucks0dias_Chrysalis 27 points28 points  (2 children)

"FT merchant"

"God, please go back to fishing, I beg."

[–]76ersdaftpaak 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Easily the weirdest harden performance, no threes and free throws, just mid range jumpers and floaters.

[–]Celticsripmeleedair 30 points31 points  (1 child)

Idk he wasn't that bad this game. Complained a lot though. He was brutal in our season opener.

[–]BucksAliceBones 48 points49 points  (0 children)

No he was great tonight, only problem was he did it to my team.

[–]Raptors3luejays 23 points24 points  (0 children)

76ers bench is atrocious

[–]Bucksemandaheman211 22 points23 points  (5 children)

Brook Lopez gets a lot of hate but that tower of a man is a stalwart and ice cold.

[–]Bucksdevereaux 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Who could hate Splash Mountain?

[–]TheRed_Knight 80 points81 points  (10 children)

IDK whats going on with Embiid but he needs to get his shit together ASAP, his current level of effort and play is frankly inexcusable for a player of his calibre, and hes flat out cost the team both games so far this season

[–]76ersPyromania1983 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Yeah, it's getting really selfish. When things aren't going his way, he doesn't step back and let Harden take over. Instead, he doubles down on his stupidity, turning the ball over in the paint and flopping like a fish. He has to be more mature than that.

[–]TheRed_Knight 16 points17 points  (0 children)

hes a literal and figurative black hole rn, they unironically looked better when hes on the bench

[–]76ersEQYour808 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Embiid baby what is you doing.

[–][deleted] 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Poor Harden, no matter where he goes, his help evaporates.

[–]MagicHyperPlasma 103 points104 points  (3 children)

Refs are actually so useless, review the out of bounds ffs. Calls that late in the game should be looked over. Would’ve been bullshit if the Bucks lost that. The refs literally stood and did nothing during the timeout. So much for speeding up games when it wouldn’t have even mattered in that situation

[–]76ersFultzShoulder 68 points69 points  (2 children)

I know it's only been 2 games but Harden > Embiid.

[–]Herbetet 15 points16 points  (1 child)

How is Harden the one carrying the team for two games straight clocking in 40mins. That’s how you gas out your veteran PG by January.

[–]PistonsInternCautious 34 points35 points  (2 children)

That was the perfect missed FT by Brook there lmao

[–]BucksZestycloseResist5594 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Almost made that last basket too haha

[–]BruiserweightYxB 14 points15 points  (3 children)

Sixers need a good old closed doors meeting with boxer gloves all around and broken tables. Someone need to lit fire under Embiid so he can start playing grown up basketball and stop playing like a bitch. He finally has Healthy Harden with him and he doesn't want. Two games in a row where he was constantly locked down.

[–]James Hardenlilshawnyy420 29 points30 points  (0 children)

James Harden can't win with these cats

[–]BucksTurbulent_Log4663 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Damn that 4th quarter collapse was real, glad the Bucks pulled it off, they’re definitely missing Middleton big time, but happy to be celebrating a Bucks W.

[–]76ersKryptonicxJesus 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Sixers are the fifth best team in the city right now

[–]76ersFEDORAS_4_SALE 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Season fucking over already

[–]76erscamscars775 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Embiid legitimately looked like the worst player on the team this game. I groaned when he came back in the game. Bad defense, terrible offense, horrific body language, standing in the backcourt.. like wtf? Does this dude have pneumonia in both lungs or something?

[–]Skitz8899 23 points24 points  (1 child)

"IM THE REAL MVP!!" GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!

[–]Jordanwolf98 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Such a Sixer way to lose
