Bet Type: Racing Bet Explanation: Racing
Win: Your horse must finish first across the line.
Place: Your horse must finish in first, second or third place. In events with five to seven runners, no dividends are payable on third place (signified by "NTD" or No Third Dividend); in events with four or fewer runners, only Win betting is allowed.
Each-Way: A combination of Win and Place bets, meaning your horse must either win or place. A $5 bet Each-way is a $5.00 bet to Win and a $5.00 bet to Place, for a total bet cost of $10.
Exacta: Pick the horses that finish first and second, in order.
Quinella: Pick the horses that finish first and second, in any order.
Trifecta: Pick the horses that finish first, second and third, in order*.
First4: Pick the horses that finish first, second, third and fourth, in order*.
Duet: Pick two horses who will place first, second or third but can finish in any order.
Running Double: Pick the winners of two consecutive races at the same track.
Daily Double: Pick the winners of two nominated races at the same track.
Treble: Pick the winners of three nominated races at the same track. This bet type is only available with UBET (NT, QLD, SA & TAS) or select corporate bookmakers.
Quadrella or Quaddie: Pick the winners of four nominated races at the same track.
Super 6 (or Big 6): Pick the winners of six nominated races, typically held at the one track, but can also be split over two or more tracks.
Top Fluc: Also known as 'Best Fluc', guarantees the punter will be paid out at the highest fluctuation for their given runner.
Multis: A multi-leg bet is one that consists of multiple legs or bets across a number of different events/races.

* Unless you take a Boxed trifecta or First Four, in which case they can finish in any order. Boxing increases your chance of winning (by increasing the number of possible winning combinations) but it will cost you more to place the bet.
