Milwaukee Bucks are 6-0 since acquiring Danilo Gallinari, while Utah Jazz are 2-8 since trading Simone Fontecchio.

Bucks had a rough start with Coach Doc and briefly fell to 3rd seed in favour of Cleveland, but thanks to Gallo's divine aura they put their shit together and are now 2nd again, following a 6-0 winstreak.

Jazz were on a hot streak and were above .500 with real a chance to playoffs, but after sending Fontecchio to Detroit (God bless his soul) they fell out of play-ins and are now 28-34 after a bad 2-8 in the last 10.

Long story short, keep italians in your roster if you can.

Ps. Obligatory banter

Bref has him at 8,871 before tonight where he scored 19.

Additionally, he was drafted in 08 and plays with the big m8 - Adams. I guess you could say it was f8.

What comes next?

  • He drags OKC to the 8th seed?

  • He averages 8 rebounds a game?

  • His 3 pt shot becomes the 8th wonder of the world?

In the summer of 2019, the Clippers traded Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, 5 First Round Picks, and 2 Pick Swaps for Paul George (and the opportunity to sign Kawhi Leonard).

Since then, the Clippers:

  • Lost to the Nuggets in the 2nd round in the Bubble after being up 3-1

  • Lost to the Suns in the Western Conference Finals in 2021

  • Went 42-40 and then missed the playoffs after losing to Minnesota and New Orleans in the play-in tournament

  • Signed Kawhi Leonard to a 4 year/$176,265,152 contract through the end of the 2024/2025 season

Kawhi has played a total of 111 regular season games since joining the Clippers, including missing all of last year and 13/15 games so far this year. He is currently out indefinitely.

Meanwhile, on the Thunder:

  • SGA has looked like the best player this year out of everyone included in the trade

  • 2 of the FRPs included turned into Tre Mann and Jalen Williams

  • The Thunder still own the Clippers FRPs for 2024 and 2026, and have a protected Miami FRP in 2023 2025.

  • They also have the right to swap picks with the Clippers in 2023 (next draft) and 2025.

Neither team would make the playoffs based on their records if the season ended today.

EDIT: Everything I wrote was/is an objective fact, but the fact that some folks are getting so defensive over it is pretty telling on its own. The only point I made that is subjective is that SGA has looked like the best player this year, which I don’t think is a hot take.

For the record, I thought it was a win-win trade then and I think it’s a win-win trade now. The Clippers have Kawhi for at least another year (with a player option after that). If he can manage to play 60 games and play through the playoffs, the Clippers are instant contenders. Hell I learned after I posted this that Kawhi is coming back soon, so it’s not even out of the question for this season.

PSA: Danilo Gallinari’s pasta recipe is so good and simple to make

I was browsing all kinds of random YouTube videos last night when I came across this video (https://youtu.be/kBtmtNKvlGA) of gallinari making pasta for the all star break talent show. It looked pretty good, so I tried it out (added some zucchini cus I gotta get my veggies yaknow), results are here: https://i.imgur.com/dFyCxNY.jpg. excuse the parmesan cheese block flex in the back

I have almost no cooking skill and it turned out great, so hats off to Danilo. Lots of single 20 something dudes on r/nba (including me lol) so I think is a pretty important psa

Dejounte Murray traded to the Hawks for Danilo Gallinari + Picks - Thoughts?

Dejounte Murray traded to the Hawks for Danilo Gallinari + Picks - Thoughts?

Atlanta adds a great man-to-man and roaming perimeter defender in Murray. Trae may benefit off-ball since Murray can create off the dribble and could generate opportunities for Trae to catch and shoot.

Murray is a good cutter as well, he isn't a great threat from the three but 21/8/9 are no numbers to scoff at on top of his defense.

Spurs are clearly looking for a rebuild through draft picks... could we possibly have seen the last of Gregg Popovich as a head coach?

From the sportando:

Kevin O’Connor said on a The Ringer Instagram live stream that the Atlanta Hawks are targeting Danilo Gallinari for the free agency.

“I heard [the Hawks] are going after Danilo Gallinari. I’ve heard they very well may be signing Danilo Gallinari as soon as free agency opens,” O’Connor said.

John Collins potentially getting shipped out if this is true?
