This map has a ridiculously awful map design - spawns are so fucked that basically if you spawn in some places you are most likely dead because of a huge advantage other spawn have on you, hills so large and complicated it is impossible to spot someone on it and extremely quick play scav spawns. It is beyond me how anybody can like this map. I just ran from place to place for 10 minutes straight getting shot from 3 different hills untill I had nowhere to run.
Fuck this map and fuck campers
End of rant

Obviously not finished at all but I am so happy that the first prototype of the inventory is working.
Did not take me about 3 months and like 4 iterations... :)

Arena Even yesterday at peak time a lot of streamers were fed up with Arena, the few I tuned into like Summit and Lvndmark all said if it wasn't for them signing up for the Tournament later they would have quit playing it. The devs working on Arena should be told to do whatever major things they can and pack it up.

Hello there,
I'm Big Bad Beaver, a content creator on and . I mainly play (as you can guess) Project Zomboid, and I wanted to share with the community a project I am preparing to release this Saturday. For the past few months, I've been working with a team of developers on a mod called Remnants of Kentucky, a multiplayer PvPvE extraction gamemode heavily inspired by games like Escape from Tarkov.
The story...
Taking place countless years after the Knox Event, humanity is on the brink of collapse. With most transformed into monsters, those left standing consider themselves the Remnants of Kentucky- survivors loosely held together through a collection of settlements, all vying for the last little bit of food and supplies.
With rumors of an untouched stockpile of gear at nearby Bria Island, the very balance of power is now up for grabs. Using the last bit of their resources, each settlement sends scavengers down to collect as many supplies as possible- by any means necessary.
How do you play?
Before stepping foot onto Bria Island, survivors will start in their safehouse- their own private space away from the horrors of the apocalypse. Here, you can customize your loadout, organize your stash, purchase and sell items through the in-game shop, and prepare for the battle ahead. In between rounds, you can even spend time decorating your base with furniture and knick-knacks you collect while playing!
When the round begins, you'll appear in a random location on the island, with 20 minutes on the clock. Your goal is to collect as much gear as possible- ranging from essentials like food and medicine, to more frivolous goods like clothes or toy plushies. Each location on the island has something unique to offer, like the military bases, loaded with ammunition and weaponry. Plan your route carefully and make sure you bring a bag!
Time is not on your side. The longer you stay on the island, the more zombies will come. Make sure you check your map for the marked extraction zones and leave before the timer hits zero. You don't want to be there when the horde arrives...
Throughout all of this, zombies won't be the only threat out there. Other survivors from rival settlements are here for the same goal. While you don't need to fight other players, the question remains: will you trust your fellow man, or will you take no chances?
Launching March 2nd!
I am hosting a big launch party for Remnants of Kentucky live on Twitch this Saturday, March 2nd, at 9:30 PM ET, complete with special guests, some giveaways, surprises and later on in the evening, some community matches. During the event, Remnants of Kentucky will be officially released to the public and anyone will be able to host their own Remnants of Kentucky server!
Remnants of Kentucky supports up to 16 players at a time in a round, and supports popular mods, including VFE, Brita's Armor Mod, and more.
The first version of Remnants of Kentucky won't be perfect, as many people familiar with PZ's net code and PvP systems know. However, I hope to continue supporting the mod into the future with new content, features, bug fixes, balance tweaks, additional mod compatibility, and support for build 42 when that drops.
For now, I would love to have you all join the Remnants of Kentucky launch party live on this Saturday!
If you have questions in the meantime, I'll do my best to answer them in this post!

Risk Levels and Map Rotation: Risk levels would be displayed on the maps before players choose to enter one. These risk levels could range from low to high, and they would rotate through all the maps periodically, perhaps on an hourly basis. This rotation adds an element of unpredictability to the gameplay experience, encouraging players to adapt their strategies based on current risk factors.
-
Impact on Loot and Difficulty: Higher risk levels would result in increased difficulty and potentially better rewards. For example, at higher risk levels, players might encounter tougher AI-controlled enemies (scavs) with improved tactics and equipment. Additionally, the chances of encountering powerful boss characters within the map could increase. On the flip side, higher risk levels could also mean better loot opportunities, such as increased spawn rates for rare items or higher-quality gear.
-
Environmental Challenges: In addition to AI behavior and loot availability, risk levels could also introduce environmental challenges that affect players' survival. This could include dynamic weather effects such as extreme heat or cold, heavy rain, fog, or even radiation zones. These environmental factors would not only add realism to the game but also present additional obstacles for players to overcome, such as increased consumption of hydration and energy resources, impaired visibility, and heightened risk of exposure to harmful conditions.
-
Player Interaction and Decision-Making: The introduction of dynamic risk levels would encourage players to make strategic decisions based on current conditions. For example, players might choose to prioritize raids on maps with lower risk levels during periods of high difficulty to minimize potential losses. Alternatively, risk-taking players might opt for higher-risk maps in pursuit of greater rewards, accepting the increased challenges and potential dangers that come with them.
TL:DR By implementing dynamic risk levels and incorporating these elements into Escape from Tarkov, developers could create a more immersive and dynamic gameplay experience that challenges players to adapt and thrive in the face of ever-changing conditions.

This game could be so great, it really could be. Though there isn't much left to do anymore, no reason to bring out the juiced gear (ReapIR/FLIR/Spear/Mjölnir), because some player will pay to play tarkov just to win. Crazy to see how on patch day, typically a day regarded as cheater-less, so full of sus players. 200hr 20KD white names running rampant on every map, and server. It's not about losing the gear, as much as it's about losing time. Another player who pays a monthly subscription to play tarkov, takes my hard earned free time away, and that's always more valuable than anything else. Maybe it's time to stop playing this game, and let it turn into an HvH game.
I mean look, we can see how out of touch the developers are with the game.
They don't play their own game, the task system is just setup to be stupidly hard to retain hard headed players who enjoy an adrenaline boost from an occasional rare loot experience. They don't care about the cheating issue, because it overturns revenue flow for them (refer to nikita's post about the stash microtransaction post, they admitted they have "no" revenue flow).
It's so sad to see such an amazing game, fall so short in so many places.
Edit:
Whoever reported me to the "RedditCareResources" about being depressed thank you lol

The subreddit covers various game development aspects, including programming, design, writing, art, game jams, postmortems, and marketing. It serves as a hub for game creators to discuss and share their insights, experiences, and expertise in the industry.
One of the problems I noticed with extraction style shooters was the tendency for some players to camp the extraction zone and just steal the loot from the team that does all the hard work.
Is this still a problem or have some games managed to solve this?
