I’m doing the research for buying my first electric car and the more I look into it, the more it seems obvious to me that Tesla cars were designed with American roads in mind, not European ones
*I first looked at the Model 3. They have no stalks to enable the turn signals anymore. Using the on-wheel buttons is impossible in the middle of a roundabout.
*Gotta size up to the Model Y then, the only model still featuring stalks. Let’s see how it performs doing a U-turn in a narrow European street, or in tight European parking spaces: the turning radius is an absolutely massive 12.1 m. An ID4 can do it in 10.2m and a Renault Mégane E-Tech in 10.4m. “Yeah that isn’t great” you might argue but “you do have parking sensors to help you, right”? Well no actually, Tesla removed the ultrasonic parking sensors to save costs and relies exclusively on the cameras nowadays (Tesla “Vision”). The results are predictably terribly unreliable.
Am I missing something? Yes the driving range is pretty impressive for the price, but it doesn’t seem terribly practical for day to day living.
I'll start from the beginning to tell you about what I've experienced: After Tesla officially started selling in Turkey, I was thrilled to fulfill my childhood dream and bought the Model Y Performance. I paid a whole $100,000. It might seem expensive compared to the US, but it's a great price for Turkey since electric cars are taxed much less compared to others. For example, cars like the Ford Mustang, which sell for $30-40,000 in America, can cost up to $500,000 in Turkey due to taxes, while the Tesla Model Y, more expensive in the US, can be sold for about $100,000 in Turkey. So, instead of buying a used car with a small engine for almost the same price, I ended up buying a brand new Model Y just as Tesla arrived in Turkey. I really fell in love with the car. I'm 21 and I've never had such a powerful and technologically advanced car before. Everything was perfect until I started facing hatred from people. I encountered people shouting at me on the street, cursing Elon Musk, and some even wrote 'GAY' on the hood of my car... I'm not joking or exaggerating, I've never experienced so much hatred in my life. Even my closest friends make fun of me just for buying a Tesla, saying real men don't drive electric cars, calling me gay. The hundreds of hateful comments I get when I share a picture of it on social media... I've started to feel unsafe on the streets with this car, and it's really bothering me. Has anyone else experienced this? Why does everyone hate this car?
For all cars with crazy messages and/or stickers. These are the rides of the warriors of information.

If you look at USA/Canada on the map you can now filter on the Superchargers that are "Open to NACS", which appears to be a large subset (though not all) of their V3/V4 Supercharger locations. This is different from the "Superchargers Open to Other EVs" filter which shows their magic dock locations. I assume the "Open to NACS" locations are where non-Tesla vehicles will be able to charge without a magic dock once automakers are granted access.
I don't have any inside info on this, it was just an observation. Would be curious if anyone else knows more.
