LATEST NEWS

On Thursday, Missouri's attorney general filed a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood for allegedly trafficking minors out of state to obtain abortions without parental consent, in violation of state law. The lawsuit demonstrates the latest example of the nation's largest abortion supplier appearing to engage in covering up the sexual abuse of minors, which stretches back to at least 1982.

Last week, Politico National Investigative Correspondent Heidi Przybyla claimed that anyone who believes their rights are derived from God are "Christian nationalists." In response, Family Research Council demanded an apology for making such an ardently false statement.

A sprawling new survey is revealing that voters are getting sick of the Biden administration, and Trump's popularity is holding strong. According to the latest Harvard CAPS/Harris poll, President Joe Biden's approval rating is floundering, underwater at 45% (23% strongly approve, 22% somewhat approve), with his disapproval rate (39% strongly disapprove, 15% somewhat disapprove) remaining fairly steady since January of 2022.

President Donald Trump and Joe Biden offered dueling speeches at the nation's southern border on Thursday, but geography proved all they had in common. Standing on Texas soil a mere 325 miles apart, their policies came from different political universes.

Over the years, research centers have routinely polled American citizens on the topic of free speech. And with each passing year, the country seems more convinced that while freedom of speech is important, how one practices that right can be problematic.

Hill leaders may have escaped another shutdown showdown, but there'll be plenty of heavy-lifting when Congress comes back into session next week. It hasn't been easy, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said, "trying to turn the aircraft carrier back to real budgeting and spending reform." His analogy for getting back to real appropriations work was an interesting one, since Republicans seem to swing an ax at every budget but one: Defense. And maybe, one senator says, it's time to rethink that.
