No, FIFTY FIFTY did not just win a Grammy.
Awards + Achievements

Barbie The Album just won the Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media, and I've been seeing a lot of people claim that this makes FIFTY FIFTY the first K-pop group to win a Grammy. However, this is unfortunately not true. According to the GRAMMY's nomination list, the award for this category goes to the compilation producers (Brandon Davis, Mark Ronson & Kevin Weaver) and the music supervisor (George Drakoulias), not FIFTY FIFTY.

This is the official criteria:

Award to the principal artist(s) and/or 'in studio' producer(s) of a majority of the tracks on the album. In the absence of both, award to the one or two individuals proactively responsible for the concept and musical direction of the album and for the selection of artists, songs and producers, as applicable. Award also goes to appropriately credited music supervisor(s).

FIFTY FIFTY is the principal artist for only one song on a 17-song album, making them responsible for less than 6% of the vocal performance on this project. That is a far cry from the "majority" necessary to qualify as a recipient.

This is not to downplay FIFTY FIFTY's accomplishments or the impact of their song, Barbie Dreams. I'm only here to correct misinformation.
