A subreddit for fans of sports personality Ryen Russillo Discuss any news, happenings, or recent podcasts involving Ryen Russillo.
Now, this may have been discussed on another topic, but I couldn't see it.
Did anyone else find the player comp discussion to be incredibly revealing when they started talking about Russillo? I know that he is very successful, but when it comes to the sports media pyramid he's still not THAT high up.
At the Ringer he's only below Simmons, but there are tons of people elsewhere who are far more successful, recognisable, and associated with a particular sport or show.
It's not that I actually care about who the right comparison would be, just thought it was fascinating for him to feel like certain NBA Champion comparisons would be selling himself short.

Disparaging the Oakland As for how bad they have been run for 20 years and how unpopular their move to Las Vegas seems to be among the general public seems to be like a new national pastime among baseball fans.
Whats is more intriguing to me is that there seems to be more and more reports coming about what seems to be a lukewarm enthusiasm for an MLB team in Las Vegas :
-
Only 30k stadium plans to date: the underlying market does not seem to be particularly deep for a Baseball team and raises questions about the profitability of the future ballpark if 1 Bn cost figures are correct
-
Public financing is not all in and the LV metro and city have yet to join the project if i'm not mistaken
-
The hype surrounding the arrival of the Golden Knights (1st majors) or the Raiders (because NFL) does not seem to have translated to the As - ofc having a shitty ownership team does not help.
Last but not least there is a healthy dose of skepticism, even concern among sports economists and analysts as it pertains to the potential success of an MLB franchise model such as the As in Las Vegas.
Now, we all know that Silver is bound to move forward and expand in LV unless last minute catastrophe in the next TV deal. So LV will have all 4 majors in town soon.
Do you really believe all of them can prosper in such a tiny - albeit very special - market? Or are we going to see a fight for relevance btw baseball and basketball in the city with the losing one in probably very dire straits? And in that context, which do you think has the most potential in the city between the MLB or the NBA to thrive?

So dumb. You have timberwolves fans and nuggets fans saying he’s a statpadder. Its crazy how the narrative changes after one bad game. If we went off one game alone, we would say sabonis is better than jokic which is obviously not true because jokic is the best player in the world. But yet these guys conclude that bam is better off of one game and say sabonis is statpadding? When he had all his roleplayers coming through the entire game. Sabonis still getting all nba though, a bunch of casuals opinions won’t change that.
Although the game ended in a loss, sabonis finished the night with 14 points 14 rebounds and 10 assists. This resulted in a triple double and a double double. What a game from sabonis today!

The title basically sums it up. After all he's done since becoming owner from bringing us to relevancy to this movement and rebrand, listening to fans is it too crazy to say that?
“The comparison was gonna be there,” Sharpe said of the father and son. “But LeBron has to be careful. When…Bronny plays well and then you say, ‘Well, he’s better than some players in the NBA.’ Because people are gonna remember you said that.
“And I understand, that’s his son. But you have to be careful of that. ‘Cause they like, ‘Hold on. Wait a minute. A high school kid is as good as players in the NBA?’
“You coulda said that about LeBron, that LeBron as a high school senior was as good as some players in the NBA. And you woulda been absolutely right. But because Bronny doesn’t possess his dad’s athleticism or his size, it’s different.
“He gon’ get strays because of you.”
Want to watch kg and spree run , if i get league pass can i watch the entire series vs kings , la ?
