ABX Toycat shared information about 4J Studios, the team behind Minecraft's legacy console editions, working on a new project resembling Minecraft but with unique features (e.g. the ability to place spheres and other unique shapes - not just blocks).
A photo of the game is also shown in the video - of a castle structure.
The game seems to be only planned for modern-gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series - maybe Switch 2?) - the engine seems power hungry enough that a mobile port doesn’t seem on the cards.
The game also appears to run at 60fps on development hardware - and will have limited size worlds.

4J studios's Menu Interfaces, User Interface and Gameplay features along with the bedrock engine will make the new 1.2 Update even better. Having 2 versions of Minecraft on console for example is weird.

If you didn't know already, Mojang didn't make the Minecraft Console Editions. 4J Studios did. Im wondering if in terms of performance and stability, the bedrock or Editions (Legacy) is better.
