T-Rex: We start with "Chocolate or vanilla?" which, assuming "both" and "neither" are secret third and fourth options, divides everyone into four buckets.
T-Rex: Then we add "Cats or dogs?" to further subdivide it into sixteen!
T-Rex: By adding two more classic dichotomies ("cake or pie?", "flight or invisibility?") we get to 256 classes, and with only THIRTEEN more such questions, we have enough to divide EVERYONE ALIVE ON EARTH into a unique box.
Utahraptor: That assumes everyone has unique tastes though.
T-Rex: Sure, obviously!
T-Rex: BUT: if we go through this process and discover you're in a bucket with a billion other people, then we can confidently say you're normcore. And if you're in a bucket all alone, then we can confidently say your tastes are unique and or unpopular! SEVENTEEN QUESTIONS, Utahraptor! That's all it takes!
Off panel: Still seems like a lot of work just to confirm my tastes are popular and therefore correct.
T-Rex: Dude! If YOU have a better conversation starter that works on all 8 billion people, I would LOVE to hear it!
