Die Gemeinden und der Staat haben hier im Kreis die Preise netterweise fixiert, ansonsten dreht das völlig frei. Habe schon 90€/fm frei Waldstraße gesehen, aber auch 700€/fm für 30cm Stücke. Beruhigt sich aber spätestens dann wenn man feststellt dass man nicht dauerhaft in einer Sauna leben kann.

I do this for a living after four years of university and am currently in the trainee program for a lifelong government position with the German state for exactly that. Sadly they pay only half that when you have finished that and depending on the time of the year, 40hours are the lower end. Yes, it evens out over the year, but some seasons aren’t that nice.

I live in Germany and due to my profession I could very well just buy an AR-15 tomorrow. I don’t. Why? Because it’s a stupid weapon to have. Aside from the obvious bad press around it, everything it does can be done better by a more specialised weapon for civilian use. I don’t see us plummeting in a civil war in the near future, so why would I get myself an assault rifle for hunting and the like?

Dieses Jahr an Weihnachten kein einziger rassistischer Kommentar! Nur die absolute Herabwürdigung meiner beruflichen Tätigkeit und aller Lebensentscheidungen, aber man kann nicht alles haben.

Ernsthaft: ich frage mich echt warum die ältere/älteste Generation dieses Mindset hat. Wir sehen seit Jahrzehnten wie weit und gesellschaftliche Toleranz bringen kann und die verschließen völlig die Augen davor.

It is. The downfall of the Roman Empire was a colossal break in technological development. However, the core of the thread we are commenting on was how old some structures still in use are and the still functioning and used Roman pipes are definitely one of the big differences in between North America and Europe. Same goes for their roads, although most likely f them are heavily renovated. There are quite a few forests in Europe for example that use Roman roads for infrastructure to this day, while the fortifications built in the Middle Ages that lay within the forest are barely visible nowadays.

Die Forstlobby? Du meinst die Sägelobby. Knapp die Hälfte des Waldes ist beispielsweise in Deutschland in Staatshanf und kann problemlos ökologisch ausgerichtet werden und ist dies zum großen Teil auch. Wir haben nur noch keine gesetzlichen Bestimmungen die die Privatwirtschaft stärker einschränken weil die Sägeindustrie immer noch auf Fichte 30-50cm stark scharf ist. Die verklagen nicht umsonst den Staat um die Privatwaldbesitzer in schwächere Verhandlungspositionen zu bringen.

Positiv muss man bemerken dass beispielsweise Rheinland-Pfalz dieses Jahr ein Förderprogramm aufgesetzt hat mit dem Flächenstilllegung und nachhaltige Nutzung in klimastabilen Wäldern honoriert werden.
