When we moved into our place we learned the previous owner had chopped several huge cedars down, we still have A LOT of them but it would have been better to have not cut them down and the county had to do this big investigation and the prospect of having to replace about a dozen huge mature cedars would have made us homeless, and deeply in debt… thankfully we were not found at fault and he had cleared just under the allowed maximum so we just barely wiggled out of that one. It’s like 100k per tree plus a giant crane to plant it l, semi trucks to transport them, excavation and planting labor and shit it’s like 180k per tree once it’s in the ground, if you’re lucky.
