My boss at the trucking company I work for, called PG&E (not Tesla) to discuss installing a Megacharger. My boss did not realize we already have the capacity for 600 amp charging via multiple 240v and 480v circuits. Nor that the Tesla Semi will not tethered to our site, there are dozens of supercharger sites with more than 4 chargers on every one of our routes. There are multiple gaps in his knowledge currently. But I am much more concerned about PG&E's response. PG&E said they won't allow it. Specifically, the Tesla Semi. They suggested an "Edison" and "that Mercedes truck" instead. "We WILL NOT allocate the power for a Tesla Semi. No Tesla Semis on our grid."
Anyone know when Tesla will be registered in Canada for the iMHZEV purchase credit?
I heard that Tesla is planning to partner with a major truck stop chain and install tesla semi chargers. Does anyone know if this is the case?
Trailers could be parked and charged while loading and unloading.
I reserved as Semi the night they were released. I had a business use for it, but have since sold the business.
I still have the reservation and plan to convert it into a Semi RV to make this a reality. Might end up having the first conversion on the road.
Tesla to date hasn't shared jack squat with me in order to kickoff the design and engineering processes needed to pull this off.
I reached out to Newell, they basically told me to go pound sand. I'm really looking for an upfitter / manufacturer that will handle the project for me turnkey.
Any ideas, suggestions, or if you have any experience in doing something like this, please reach out.
A buddy in the transportation industry (but not in semis, although he has friends who drive them) asked me, where will the driver sleep? I looked around and couldn't really find any details other than some old speculatory posts, mostly based on an old DragTimes video (where the dude of course is super pumped about "0-60! 0-60! 0-60!" ;) ). Any intel?
Edit: thanks guys!
