Since Altria invests in a Cannabis company, do they still test for THC during interview process? (Sales Manager position specifically)

Altria (MO) is one of the most popular high-yield stocks, with a fantastic record of dividend payment and growing. But smoking is becoming each year something of the past, the new generations smoke less and less and have healthier habits. If you own the stock, are you planning selling it in the next few years/decades?

What do you guys think about MO. Is the high dividend yield sustainable in the long-term? Im trying to diversify my portfolio into safe and growing dividend stocks so i can buy back my time. Thank you guys for keeping me on track with my goals.

Im currently in the process of diversifying my portfolio, and have stumbled upon Altria.

As far as i can see their dividend payouts seem quite consistent, and they have according to the research ive done, never cut their dividends. However the very high dividend yield of above 8% gets me worried that i am missing something, and may be getting myself into a value trap.

Therefore id like to hear your opinions.

Is anyone concerned about the sustainability of the dividend? What is everyone’s thoughts? I am trying to figure out if it’s sustainable or not. The dividend payment just seems real high and a bit off.

I could swear I just heard on the news his lawyer saying self defense, not an exact quote but he said something like "it's not about who finished the fight but who brought the fight". Anyone who would know, how likely would a defense like this potentially exonerate someone who did a mass shooting in broad daylight like this?

Interested in hearing people’s thoughts on high dividend yielding Altria. I’m deciding between it and SCHD. I love SCHD and am leaning it that direction right now but the potential profitability of Altria moving forward is intriguing.

I just started my research on the company today so bear with me, just looking for other investors thoughts.

Ordinary or Qualified ?

Does anyone here know if Altria pays out qualified dividends or ordinary.

I would love to know this information so I can either invest in MO in my roth ira or my regular taxable. If MO does NOT pay qualified i would place it on my roth, but if it DOES pay qualified then there’s no to place it in tax break account since it already has a tax break.

Went last night. What a fantastic touring production of an amazing musical! Highly recommended. We had good seats in the orchestra... worth it for the leg room. Seems like the tour of the show made no compromises in quality of the production as it looks just like the Broadway show. GO!

I have a little over 41 shares of MO, at an overall investment of $1,822.37. I was curious as to what this group thinks:

1. Of the long term viability of the company with the Juul nonsense and the smoking rate decreasing.

2. Do we think that the current dividend payout will hold long term.

*I just started dividend investing in 2020, so I wanted some other input.

Great news.!

$MO Altria increases quarterly dividend by 4.70% to $0.90 versus the previous rate of $0.86 per share.!!

Their financial looks solid, EPS growing, shares outstanding are getting lower, sales also growing slow but constant, operating margin growing, payout ratio between 75%-78% the last 10 years, p/e 8.8, yield 8.16%.

It’s this a trap ? Or it is actually good ? Am I missing something ?
