I'm no physicist, but based on this, i'm certain it's far more likely to cause a weird friction based explosion. (If that makes any sense) I am also certain through my limitless knowledge of not knowing what the fuck I'm talking about. Even if physical matter is somehow forced to reach the speed of light (which is theoretically impossible), it would likely cause some catastrophic explosion, similar to matter exceeding the speed of sound. Breaking the sound barrier isn't catastrophic per say. But it's certainly violent. And from what my simple ADHD monkey brain has learned, physics gets more and more... unpredictable?... or perhaps just more accurately bizarre, the faster matter moves.

Not being a scientist, I have a bullshit theory (that I came up with just now) That the time dilation achieved by matter reaching speeds close to the speed of light, and the time dilation around the event horizon of a black hole might be related. Someone much smarter than me, and who actually has a degree in physics, probably already had this idea, or drew this conclusion, but who knows. I don't remember if I read this somewhere, or what. (Most things I know just bounce around in my head like a DVD Screensaver) But. If "time" dilates, for physical matter the closer it gets to the speed of light, then theoretically, this would continue infinitely, as it would become.. slower? The faster it got? Again. I only have a vague idea what I'm talking about.
