On one hand they make lot of reffernces to super-heroes , star wars & star trek + the enitire intergalctic videoclip is paing homage to kaiju films BUT the fight for your right videoclip is making fun of the tipical cartoony nerd

In Chapter 77 of the Beastie Boys Book (at least, Chapter 77 of the Audiobook), Ad-rock effectively writes an essay about why he thinks Hello Nasty is their best record. He gives 10 reasons, alongside a lot of recording history and a breakdown of a few songs, which I've paraphrased below.
-
22 songs, the most of any BB album, so you get the most for your money
-
Abundance of critical praise
-
Intergalactic is the fucking jam
-
It's a super weird record for a top 40 album in the late 90s. "Name another band that sounds like a few different bands all on the same record"
-
It's more mixtape than record, gives you lots of variety
-
It's Ad-rock's personal favourite, because it was recorded during major transitional life moments for them at very significant places, feels very full-circle
-
The best record cover/artwork
-
'Sneaking Out The Hospital' is the best song title ever
-
'Dedication' is "so bad it's awesome"
-
End of an era. After Hello Nasty, they were grown-ups, getting called sir in cafés, having children.
Does anyone know what shirt Ad—Rock wears in the So What’cha Want video? I’ve watched it over and over and can’t figure it out. Thanks!

So, I love the Beasties. And, if I have a favourite, it's definitely Ad-Rock - love his rhymes and attitude. Love what he brings to the band all around, musically and vocally.
When performing live, he likes to really scream his rhymes - far more than on album, and sometimes with big reverb and effects. Not always, but often.
I like it and I don't. Love the energy and attitude, but wish it wasn't so extreme. I'm torn. So.... LOL it's super compelling and I'm super-keyed in.
Anyway... interested to hear others thoughts on this. I've never seen anyone raise it before.
Side note, not to distract: the more I saw and see them live, the more I am impressed with Mike D. He's awesome.
