Keto reversed my hormonal issues
Keto reversed my hormonal issues

I would love to thank this community for putting out helpful information out there. I started keto about two months ago because I got the news from the doctor that I have PCOS and polyps in endometrial lining. I was suffering from irregular periods and heavy bleeding alongside pain and lots of digestion issues. I noticed that I was gaining weight rapidly, getting constant migraines and feeling ill all the time. I wasn't having a great time. My physical and mental wellbeing were at 1 on a scale of 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. Alongside the physical symptoms of feeling unwell, I was unable to regulate my emotions. Constantly crying over minor details and short tempered. Anyway, I began keto and was determined to stick to it for a week at least. Meanwhile I educated myself on ultra processed foods and realized that the shops were not for fresh foods. Pretty sure, everything was in some sort of packaging. And it frightened me, but also just zoomed me out of the life I'd been programmed to live. I stopped blaming myself for the things I was eating- after all it's so normalized and advocated for. I was a victim of the foods that was being sold to me. So much changed then. It wasn't about keto to lose weight anymore if was about refining back to a healthy and unprocessed diet. I avoided packaged foods. Sadly, I had to cut out all dairy too as I was lactose intolerant and it was time I stopped pretending I wasn't. That alone fixed majority of my problems anyway. My stomach issues cleared, and I ate fiber like no tomorrow. Then I went through a phase of eating nuts, but nuts also give me inflammation. (Slightly peak that everything my heart rests with gives me inflammation). Anyway. Long story short, I have been given the all clear from my doctor that my ovaries are cyst free, and no polyps in sight. All within just under 2 months. I lost weight too, but most importantly lost all the burden of being unhealthy as well. My mood, emotions, entire physical health has improved. EVEN MY EYESIGHT!! I had to get lower prescription lenses because they had improved so much. Basically don't even really need them anymore. Isn't this all so crazy? I'm so beyond happy. (But I still want to eat a massive chocolate cake though :/ ) Although the temptations come and go and I just ride them out. I somehow survived pancake day too even when I was in charge of cooking for all my friends this year. Good things do come out of it. So I hope this inspires someone out there. I will keep up with it for as long as I can!
