It's an Australian FF film that imo is basically As Above So Below meets The Descent. It isn't jam-packed with scares, but the scares that are there are very very well done. A film crew goes into the tunnels under Sydney, trying to determine why the government isn't tapping into the water reservoirs under the city during a drought, only to discover that there is something sinister in the tunnels that hunts them.
For me it's on the same level as Grave Encounters or Gonjiam - they aren't S tier, but they are quite enjoyable with high production levels.
Currently it's streaming on Tubi so I definitely recommend everyone to go check it out!

Maybe it's a weird question, but any of you ever watched a movie and found it maybe okay or not so great and then watched it again later on and found it to be much better than you originally thought? Sometimes I realise the 'mood' that I am in heavily affects how I perceive the film, it sounds obvious - watching a film is a subjective thing. Hopefully that makes sense, let me know if you have any examples? (:

Pretty self-explanatory. The prompt came to mind as I was watching NYAD last night. I personally heavily disliked most things about it, but Annette Bening and Jodie Foster are really good in it.

Hi all,
I’m looking for a film set in America that gives that American summer, old cars, diner feels. If anyone has suggestions they are appreciated.

I saw it on a list about overlooked and genuinely disturbing horror films. And I'm interested in seeing a horror flick that pop culture hasn't spoiled for me in the slightest.
My movie-watching time is rather limited, so I thought I'd seek opinions before I spend two hours on finding out for myself.

The old phrase “they don’t make them like this anymore” just hit me rewatching Airplane in that they literally don’t make them any more. Parody movies are extinct.
I can only assume it’s for one of two reasons. A) the style was just completely worn out. After Scary, Date, Superhero, Disaster, Epic movie, Meet the Spartans and then some even more godawful low budget ones such as The Hungover Games and Vampires Suck. It completely destroyed any desire to watch these kinds of films. It became synonymous with terrible, lowest common denominator comedy basically one tier above porn productions.
B) Movies are so meta and self referential today that they get to the jokes before any parody can. A lot of movies use lampshading, the last two phases of the MCU basically scream in your face “this is all a bit silly isn’t it?” And then you have movies like Aquaman, The Flash and the new Indy where the tones are so all over the place that you’re not even sure whether to take the film seriously that you’re watching.
People forget parody movies were actually clever and well made. And I would love to see a return to one made with passion and care. Airplane, Hot Shots 1 and Deux, Young Frankenstein, Scary Movie 1 and 2 and Balck Dynamite are some of my favourite comedies, does anyone else want to see another sincere attempt at a parody? I actually think a parody of all the A24 horror style movies would work incredibly today if someone took a shot at it.

I watched it a while ago but didn't really get all the humour but watching it today and I can't stop laughing. Its basically a compilations of skits but formed into a story. Most of the skits are exaggerations and twists on real life. Thou the movie is not for the those who are easily offended. If you don't mind some darker humour, I highly recommend giving this movie a watch.
You may be able to rent it on streaming services in your country but in the UK I got a DVD.

We can assume this is a combination of The Conners taking up a ton of his time, Covid scheduling challenges, and he's a little older now and maybe doesn't want to work as much.
But still, it's pretty notable considering he was once someone in multiple big movies each year –– and now he hasn't had a live-action film role since 2019, and that was a bomb!
Rumor is that The Conners is ending after the current season, so perhaps we can get him back (AND he can finally get his first Oscar nomination/win)

Loved Sisu, law abiding citizen, on deadly ground, equalizer, history of violence, Nobody, shoot em up, beekeeper, badass, I’m blanking on all of the other ones I love, but this is probably my favorite genre so I will take any and all recommendations!!
My favorite thing is when a villain realizes that they messed with the wrong person. I also love to see someone who thinks they are badass and then it is slowly chipped away by the hero who cuts them off bit by bit!
(Edit: not Mr. Nobody…)

This post is inspired by the fact I’m currently watching The Matrix Reloaded and the whole rave section of the movie is happening. I remember seeing it in the cinema as a teenager and even then I didn’t find it sexy it’s just so weird and sticky. It feels like the wachowskis got too excited and over shared what was in their horny brains.

There are so many variations and movies that have the same, or similar matching titles across so many years, some times I get mixed up. For example, Triangle.
There's The Triangle (2016), but there's also Triangle (2009) and a chinese movie Triangle (2007). I don't know that it needs to be a rule, but it certainly helps. Thoughts?

I am currently in Orlando and went to Universal (amazing btw) and saw the ET spot and instantly my stomach sank. I watched ET one time and only one time and for some reason it absolutely terrified me to my core and still as an adult I hate it 🤣. Not sure why, I have watched dozens of grisly horror movies/paranormal etc. in fact horror is my absolute favorite genre and "comfort", but yet, this family friendly film is one that I instantly say "Nope" to. Just curious if other people have had similar experiences.

The thing which made makes me love movies like "Dead poet society", "The devil wears Prada" and "Mona Lisa Smiles" is that they can spark a interest in the subjects they talk about (In these cases poetry, fashion and art).
Are there more movies out there that in your opinion have the same kind of effect? It can be about any topic or even the already mentioned.
Thanks in advance to every answer :)
Note: I'm not sure if this falls under , as I mean a more specific aspect of these movies.
