For tenants to talk about issues regarding bad/good landlords and the problems/perfections of their landlords.
I live in an 'upscale and luxury' student-oriented apartment unit. I initially lived on the fifth floor but moved into a different unit on the third floor.
In the past management has been tolerable, but never easy to work with or friendly.
Today, the manager of the building knocked on the door, claiming they were here for a showing. I received no notice by phone or email and said this to her while asking them NOT to come in as my apartment was not ready for guests (Edit: I even asked them to reschedule here too). The manager said she would call corporate, and closed the door. Not 30 seconds later she knocked again and claimed that "we gave notice, so we can come in," and pushed the door open and walked in with the group.
Once she was already inside I tried to show the proof that I never received any notice (I even checked my spam folder), she said it might been a mix-up with the previous unit that I lived in. I have received emails from management since I moved out, and if they didn't update the contact information to the correct unit, that should not be my fault.
She was very rude about the whole thing and it felt like an invasion.
Is there anything I can do here?
Edit: I just found the law -
Ohio Revised Code §5321.04(A)(8): Except in the case of emergency or if it is impracticable to do so, give the tenant reasonable notice of the landlord's intent to enter and enter only at reasonable times. Twenty-four hours is presumed to be a reasonable notice in the absence of evidence to the contrary.
My question still stands though... do I have any recourse/is it worth fighting over?

Ok so in March of 2023 I (32f), (14f) daughter, (9f) daughter, (3f) daughter & (1m) son was home sleeping in our apartment. while my husband (34m) was out working. At midnight I hear a knock on the door and looked through the peep hole and it was a maintenance worker I recognized. Just two week prior I had my downstairs neighbor call me to ask if there was a leak. She was having issues, so when he knocked at the door I thought this was in regards to that. I opened the door and he came inside, I asked him what he was here for and he said I’m here to see you, with his hands in his hoodie pockets and looking at me with a sexual desire. He told me to close the door so we can go have a “talk”. My heart immediately began to race because I knew I was in danger. With my kids sleeping I didn’t want him to do any harm to them and instantly thought how can I get to the knife quick enough. I did tell you need to leave multiple times while he walked closer, I then told him do you want me to tell my husband to come out here. With a confused look he thought I could be telling the truth and went out the door. I immediately locked it and called police. While I was on the phone with police he was banging nonstop at the door to let him in. When I look back at he had to watching me because he knew when my husband left for work at night. The place I live at (in Georgia) is a multi story building with gated entry ways. If you don’t have a fob to open the gates you can’t get in. The police arrive with no way to get in until my husband arrived. The police and my husband arrive at the same time and within minutes the guy is no where to be found. This really traumatized me where I could not sleep, afraid to take a shower, leave the house. I was just terrified. I went to the leasing office and told them what happened the next morning and the property manager was so dismissive of the situation and even said, “ I worked with him for 5 years, he wouldn’t do anything like that” I gave her the police report and told her I need my locks changed and need to find a new place to stay because I don’t feel safe. She advised me that it would be an additional fee to change the locks and she would charge me to terminate my lease. My daughter also told me she would see that guy driving around her bus stop. So not only am I afraid, I now will no longer allow my daughter to catch the bus. I would take her to school. The guy was later arrested. And after a month of fighting with the property manager I told the assistant manager what happened and she said she was never made aware of the situation and was in shock and scared for me and herself because she was told by another resident that the same guy came into her apartment for maintenance work and later came back with her underwear. She also told the manager but nothing was done. The leasing agents also told me they felt so uncomfortable around him and he would do inappropriate things and it was reported to the manager and nothing was done. After the investigation we were told that the maintenance guy wasn’t working there for 2 months prior to my incident. But us residents were never made aware of the staff change. How would anyone know that he no longer works there when we are use to seeing him around. Never got a reintroduction of new staff or anything. After a month of begging to get my locks changed the assistant manager met with me after hours to give me advice on who to contact at corporate. I once again showed my police report via email and finally got my locks changed without a charge. But I still was telling them I don’t feel safe I would like to leave. They still refused without payment. After my daughter and I attending Therpay it still took an emotional toll on us and my performance at work declined and I was eventually let go. This whole situation has put such an emotional strain and financial burden on me and it doesn’t feel right. I’m still going back and forth with the corporate office about charges on my account after I left the property and they keep asking for the police report that I’ve given to 8 different people and the last email I got from the vice president says, “ they were never made aware of this incident” after I have countless emails telling them about this and emails from the detective saying how hard the property manager gave him a hard time to even get the employee name to issue an arrest warrants. I’m still in contact with the other employees that have witnesses all this and they have since left the company and I’m sure they will be willing to give statements. The only thing im having a hard time with is finding a lawyer to help me with this. Their negligence and lack of proper procedures is what caused this distress on my life and I’m looking for a lawyer that can help. I’ve tried googling but I only come up with car accident lawyers. Someone who cares about getting some type of justice for myself and my family.

Hi just need some advice, our neighbour came over Thursday to borrow a screwdriver and at the same time I informed him that I will be painting our side of the fence I asked are you ok with that, he replied yes. The next day he came over and told me no your not to paint the fence, if you do I will get my lawyers involved. What's my option here. The fence sits inside our boundary line if this makes a difference.
Also just to add we brought the house in 2022 the neighbour built the fence in 2020.

I’m hoping to receive some advice from someone that has dealt with a situation like ours. We have received an appraisal on part of our property that is being used to expand an existing roadway in front of our home. In this proposal they are removing 4 trees. 3 arborvitaes and 1 spruce tree. The arborvitaes were planted four years and have been growing for four years. The spruce has been on the property for decades and is full grown (my estimate is that it is approx 40-50 ft high). The city is offering $1000 for the spruce (which in the offer they are calling a pine tree) and $50 each for the arborvitaes. We do not thing $1150 is fair offer, especially for the spruce. These trees block the roadway and we are rather unhappy about the news that they plan to cut them down. They are not building on the land that has the trees on them, but need to cut them down for construction reasons. Has anyone else dealt with eminent domain and could offer some insight as to whether this is a fair offer that we should expect or do we have any recourse for receiving a better offer? If so, who would we get involved in sending a counteroffer? We live in Ohio if that matters.
If this is better suited for another subreddit, please let me know. Thanks.
