Risk Levels and Map Rotation: Risk levels would be displayed on the maps before players choose to enter one. These risk levels could range from low to high, and they would rotate through all the maps periodically, perhaps on an hourly basis. This rotation adds an element of unpredictability to the gameplay experience, encouraging players to adapt their strategies based on current risk factors.
-
Impact on Loot and Difficulty: Higher risk levels would result in increased difficulty and potentially better rewards. For example, at higher risk levels, players might encounter tougher AI-controlled enemies (scavs) with improved tactics and equipment. Additionally, the chances of encountering powerful boss characters within the map could increase. On the flip side, higher risk levels could also mean better loot opportunities, such as increased spawn rates for rare items or higher-quality gear.
-
Environmental Challenges: In addition to AI behavior and loot availability, risk levels could also introduce environmental challenges that affect players' survival. This could include dynamic weather effects such as extreme heat or cold, heavy rain, fog, or even radiation zones. These environmental factors would not only add realism to the game but also present additional obstacles for players to overcome, such as increased consumption of hydration and energy resources, impaired visibility, and heightened risk of exposure to harmful conditions.
-
Player Interaction and Decision-Making: The introduction of dynamic risk levels would encourage players to make strategic decisions based on current conditions. For example, players might choose to prioritize raids on maps with lower risk levels during periods of high difficulty to minimize potential losses. Alternatively, risk-taking players might opt for higher-risk maps in pursuit of greater rewards, accepting the increased challenges and potential dangers that come with them.
TL:DR By implementing dynamic risk levels and incorporating these elements into Escape from Tarkov, developers could create a more immersive and dynamic gameplay experience that challenges players to adapt and thrive in the face of ever-changing conditions.

This game could be so great, it really could be. Though there isn't much left to do anymore, no reason to bring out the juiced gear (ReapIR/FLIR/Spear/Mjölnir), because some player will pay to play tarkov just to win. Crazy to see how on patch day, typically a day regarded as cheater-less, so full of sus players. 200hr 20KD white names running rampant on every map, and server. It's not about losing the gear, as much as it's about losing time. Another player who pays a monthly subscription to play tarkov, takes my hard earned free time away, and that's always more valuable than anything else. Maybe it's time to stop playing this game, and let it turn into an HvH game.
I mean look, we can see how out of touch the developers are with the game.
They don't play their own game, the task system is just setup to be stupidly hard to retain hard headed players who enjoy an adrenaline boost from an occasional rare loot experience. They don't care about the cheating issue, because it overturns revenue flow for them (refer to nikita's post about the stash microtransaction post, they admitted they have "no" revenue flow).
It's so sad to see such an amazing game, fall so short in so many places.
Edit:
Whoever reported me to the "RedditCareResources" about being depressed thank you lol

One of the problems I noticed with extraction style shooters was the tendency for some players to camp the extraction zone and just steal the loot from the team that does all the hard work.
Is this still a problem or have some games managed to solve this?

So this on the Escape from Tarkov subreddit made me realise that joining a public lobby in Sim racing is like playing Tarkov. Hear me out.
-
In Tarkov, the primary goal is to enter a raid and extract on the other side alive. In Sim racing, the primary goal is to enter a race and finish it alive.
-
In Tarkov, kill on sight is not always the best and safest strategy to survive, cooperation is (as demonstrated by the thread I linked). In Sim racing, sometimes it's not worth it to attack/defend but cooperating by racing along for a while to rejoin the pack or leave the pack behind is the better strategy.
-
Following point 2, in Tarkov you never really know how an encounter will go before as well as during. Your friendly scav/PMC might just headshot you any moment to take your loot. In Sim racing, you also never know how long your new found team mate will stab you in the back.
-
In Tarkov, being a "rat" means you wait out 2 players shooting each other out so that you can then kill whoever is left. In Sim racing, 2 drivers battling it out is often a good passing opportunity for the patient driver "rat".
-
In Tarkov, a "Chad" is a fully decked out PMC who destroys everyone by their superior skills. In Sim racing, a Chad is someone with a fully decked out Sim rig destroying everyone with their superior skills.
-
In Tarkov, some rich but poorly skilled players Resort to real market trade to buy gear with real money in order to compete. In Sim racing, more often than not, poorly skilled drivers think that acquiring better Sim racing equipment will make them faster (it's tongue in cheek, please don't downvote me lol. I'm the first with horrible gear acquisition syndrome).
-
In Tarkov, even if you're a Chad, sometimes you get taken out by an exit camper "rat" Scav just before extracting after having dominated the whole raid. In Sim racing, sometimes you dominate the lobby, lap the bottom of the grid only to be taken out on the last turn of the last lap by a blue flagged driver who dive bombed you in the chicane.
Anything else I'm missing?

I was scrolling through youtube and found this video about Tarkov and I think most of the people in this subreddit might want to watch it:
credit to , please go watch it.
Watching this video made me feel above the controversies, dramas, and debates surrounding this game. It clicked for me: fun, realism, reward feelings, and immersion are all different things that Tarkov can achieve in many ways.
With this wipe, this week's Reddit posts have been filled with players arguing about the new hitboxes and armor changes. Good armor no longer makes you an unstoppable force, and I really like that change, in contrast to most of the opinions I've read that say this change will negatively impact casual players or that there's now no advantage in using level 5/6 armor. And that is GOOD! Forget the casuals, forget the people who think it's insanely complex. You won't be aiming for a guy's armpit just because they don't have armor there; you will aim where you can at that moment, or the other guy will shoot you, and you'll be dead.
The point is no one is entitled to the need for feeling accomplished playing this game; you have to earn it yourself. And for me, that's a beautiful way of looking at this game, this piece of art. Yeah, art, because art is not for everyone, just as Tarkov is only for us, the degenerates who come back again and again, hooked on the feeling of dying, killing, looting, and escaping... only to thrive in a videogame where all the odds are pointing knifes at your back.
I know that this is just an opinion on an opinion video from a game that we all play differently but I just wanted to rant for a bit and see what other players might think about this. To me feels refreshing seeing that not everyone is dropping hate on the devs and every decision they make.

Iv been in the market for a new machine for a little while as mines about 9 years old now but I am having a hard time pulling the trigger because I only play Escape from Tarkov and World of Warcraft. People have been saying the 5800x3d and 7800x3d are like 'the' cpu's for Tarkov.
My current specs are: i7-6700k, gtx1070, 16gb ddr4 3800mhz.
At low settings, I get about 80-120fps in Tarkov with some dips at 1080p. People keep telling me ill get like 180fps constant with the 5800x3d on the current graphic settings I play on. Is that possible paired with my gtx 1070? I saw this cpu/mobo/ram bundle at Micro Center and it's only 350 dollars and I can use my memory with it so id have 32gb running at 3200mhz.
I rather spend 350 now to hold me over until something like GTA 6 comes out rather than drop 3k on a new PC/monitor now for 2 old games. I also don't want to spend 350 dollars if it's only going to give me a 10% gain in performance but I was just curious because everyone says these cpu's run Tarkov so easy.
Thanks!
