Interestingly enough, his stat line against the Warriors on January 25 was 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 13 assists:

Is this? Not even addressing the lack of praise. Never have I past by another subreddit actively creating hate threads against their franchise star who just put up 40-points carrying his sorry as s team with role players not offering help and diverting their blame to him.
Murray: 35 mins, 3-9 shooting, 6 points, stupd foul to put PHX up 4 and out of reach.
Barnes: 37 mins, 9 points.
Davion: 17 mins, 1-3 shooting, 3 points.
Even Malik is 0-5 chucking 3s and Sabonis has his moments letting every PHX player stroll to the rim (both have great game, I'm just saying they have their bad too).
Its almost like Fox was on other teams until Monte signed him while the other 16 players carried this sorry as s fanbase integrity for the 7 shtty yrs prior since they got drafted to this city.
Is it just me thinking like this or it's the reality?
It can be real frustrating at times watching the Suns play defense. But since Christmas they have been the 9th best defense in the league. It doesn’t feel that way.
I think it’s because the NBA has changed so much the last 5-7 years. In the past the top defensive teams were stout. Even a top 10 defensive would be considered elite. Its just a different game now with the proliferation of 3 point shooting. Now almost every guy who touches the floor is a multi skilled scorer.
So much emphasis is made on guarding the 3 point line that naturally there will be wide open lanes to the rim. In the past teams could pack the paint. Not anymore.
To illustrate my point:
2017-2018 the Suns had the worst defense in the league. 111.7 defensive rating.
In 2023-2024 the same defensive rating of 111.7 would be the 4th best defense in the NBA just behind Boston at 110.9.
That is absolutely insane. The worst defense in 2017/2018 would be a top4 defense today.
So whats my point? Don’t get too frustrated when the Suns allow 125 points. Or when there are open dunks or 3s. The game is just different now. Defenses are stretched thin so open shots are a fact of life now.
Last night was a disaster for me, personally. I had some solid picks and the night STARTED out amazingly. Unfortunately, Brow over Sabonis was a pivot that cost me 30 fantasy points, and I ended up fading Tatum.
Those were two very damaging moves, while loading up on Pistons (shocker!) proved to be a mistake.
Onward and upward. Huzzah!
Tonight's slate is massive. So much so that anything I tell you now could be totally useless later. I have a sick kid home, too, so I don't know if I'll be able to get to a video today. Be sure to subscribe to my channel (link in reddit profile) for future videos, though.
Here's a condensed look at this slate:
Top Game Stacks
-
Hawks vs. Hornets
-
Pacers vs. Raptors
-
Spurs vs. Mavs
-
Kings vs. Nuggets
-
Lakers vs. Jazz
That's 5 of 12 games that look awesome. A few others are viable and you can always pick and choose players from any game, no matter what. However, the games above are the best DFS environments in terms of point spread, pace of play, and game total.
I'd be shocked if the top game stack didn't come from this list. That doesn't mean just stack these games blindly, but a lot of the best plays should reside here.
Best NBA DFS Picks
-
PG: Trae Young ($9.5k)
-
SG: Amen Thompson ($6.5k)
-
SF: Duncan Robinson ($4.4k)
-
PF: Wemby ($9.2k)
-
C: Nikola Jokic ($11.3k)
Trae looks awesome against the Hornets. This entire game looks good, to be honest. Luka is a fine elite spend up top (especially as a pivot off of chalky Jokic), and Tyler Herro should again have a big role with Miami guys ailing. His price has come up but he's still too cheap for his role.
For value, Reggie Jackson stands out with Jamal Murray sidelined, while Tre Mann and Keyonte George also look like nice salary savers.
Amen Thompson is still too cheap and projects very well. He played 38 minutes last game and is a double-double threat every time out. I love him as a mid-range play, even if he's chalky.
Tatum remains a fine spend at SF, but SF is not the position I'd like to spend my money at today. Can we really trust Duncan on b2b slates? At this price, with Miami missing key bodies, I don't see why we can't consider it. He is again a solid punt and saves us some cash.
Wemby is forever too cheap, it seems. He isn't even garnering ownership, either, which is weird since Dallas is not a scary matchup. That game's spread is dicey, but we know Wemby can get there in 25-30 min pretty easily.
Jovic is an elite punt if he starts again. Not sure I want to dance with the devil that is a 32% owned Lamar Stevens. On a massive slate like this, that might be a full fade for me.
Jokic is the smashiest of smash plays on this slate. He's wrecked the Kings this year and will have crazy upside with Jamal Murray not playing tonight. He's suddenly too cheap. The only knock is he will be very owned and Luka is the dream GPP pivot on this slate.
Anthony Davis looks really good for $1.2k less, Sabonis is viable, and guys like Bam and Sengun are nice prices, too.
For value, I'm not sure anyone looks better than Bruno Fernando at center with Capela/Okungwu both out.
My Strategy for Wednesday
Holy hell, this is an insane slate. I would anticipate a crap ton of news messing with our heads here. I will personally play extremely light so I can take hard stands and avoid spreading myself too thin.
I also would like to point out that any picks/insight you see here becomes dated and should not be taken as gospel if/when major news breaks. I'd lean harder on my YouTube vids, which typically will come out later in the day.
But for a 12-gamer? Everything is out the window until like 10 min to lock. So much can and will change. That said, I am doing one single entry today and I will just prioritize value.
Are my plays projecting well? Are they good or bad chalk? Am I getting good per minute producers at discounts?
You can afford to be very picky on a slate like this. With all the expected value, I think stacking Jokic with Wemby or even Luka is very doable and comfortably so. That said, living in the mid range has it's perks, as there are soooo many good plays on this slate.
Ultimately, I would establish your core, run your favorite lineup optimizer, and then make some pivots based on other guys in your pool that you like.
Hilariously, last night I ate a ton of chalk, but paid down from Franz Wagner, up from Jonathan Isaac, and pivoted from Sabonis to Anthony Davis. Brow was still really good (and those first 2 moves worked very well), but fading Sabonis proved catastrophic.
Those little changes to the optimal lineup can be the difference between winning and losing, but they can also lead to a takedown.
I will likely go stars and scrubs tonight. You can absolutely get to Amen/Jokic/Wemby very easily and feel good about it on this slate.

UNDISPUTED is a daily two-and-a-half hour sports debate show starring Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe, and moderated by Jenny Taft. Every day Skip and Shannon will give their unfiltered, incisive, passionate opinions on the biggest sports topics of the day.
I was pretty disappointed that Skip got all former NFL players on the show and not a single desk member who focuses more on NBA. The only NBA topics we had this year were regarding the Lakers and rarely when a player had a monster game.
Hopefully now that the NFL season has ended, we'll actually see NBA segments and not just NFL speculation about the off-season.
Since 2019-20, Miami now has 6 games of 19+ threes against Milwaukee. They have 18 against all other NBA teams
This stat only confirms what we already know: Miami’s shooters wake up whenever the opposing team wears green/ has Milwaukee or Boston written across their chest.
