Appearance = Age, sex, height, weight, race, gender, etc. The picture is there to keep the comic from making jokes they would be ashamed to do in real life, and to make it slightly harder for facebook & twitter "celebrities" to build followings based off uncredited material. It is not an invitation to r/roastme.

Do not insult a submitter's talent/career.
Attack the joke, not the joker. Comedians with major TV credits don't get special treatment in this sub - comedians without them don't deserve special abuse. The fact that you don't like a particular joke is no excuse to call the submitter a nobody, talentless, cancer, hacky, unfunny, tell them to kill themselves or not quit their day job. This includes accusations of paying for upvotes, which is just another way of doing the same thing.
3
Submissions must feature a photo of the comedian.
Submissions must feature a photo of the comedian on stage. This subreddit is focused on standup comedy and comedians, not just funny tweets or memes. For non-OC, this helps ensure proper attribution. For OC, this is a quality control measure - comics shouldn't post anything they aren't comfortable saying in real life. Animated GIFs are allowed.
4
Repost Policy
Upvotes & downvotes, not comments, determine if content has been reposted too frequently. Non-OC reposts are allowed, provided it's clear the submitter is not the original creator, and the comedian is properly credited. OC reposts are also allowed, but your real identity is associated with your submissions so don't abuse it.
5
Original Content Preferred
Standupshots is primarily an OC subreddit. Non-OC submissions are allowed, but may be removed if they're keeping original content from ascending to the #1 spot.
6
No accusations of spam/self-promotion.
This subreddit is primarily intended for Original Content creators to share their content. In exchange for providing free content, they're allowed to promote things like their social media, shows and other projects (just like r/IamA). Attempting to shame submitters who use the subreddit for its intended purpose is not allowed.
7
No misogyny.
If your Amy Schumer South Park quote wouldn't make sense when applied to a male comedian, it probably falls in this category. Ditto if your post history includes calling out female comics for sex jokes, but not men. Complaining about this policy is a good way to be ignored by the mod team.
8
No accusations of vote manipulation.
Nobody here is buying or botting upvotes, but if you suspect vote manipulation, the proper procedure is to notify the admins here: https://www.reddit.com/contact/. Click the button that says "message the admins," then "something else," then "content that breaks reddit's rules" and finally "vote manipulation." Slandering submitters in the comments can get you banned. Personal dislike of a joke is not evidence of conspiracy.
9
No pictures of tweets
No pictures of tweets (or similar social-media-looking posts). No cartoons/heavily filtered images. The idea is to identify the comic and recreate some of the stage experience. Stick a joke on a photo like everybody else.
