message 9: by Aditya (new)

Aditya | 1887 comments Finished The Force by Don Winslow. An ambitious, well researched crime novel about corrupt cops reminiscent of LA Quartet and The Shield, it is not as exceptional as either but still a fine book in its own right. Rating - 4/5.

message 11: by Robert (new)

Robert Everhart | 2 comments Just finished Kafka's, The Trial. Was kinda brutal. I know it's dated and that factors into the style, but my lands... make your point and move on. :)
Deep in Bradbury's, The Day it Rained Forever. It's incredible. Again, the style is of another time, but man, Ray could write.

Best,

Rob

Agreed. In general, why are British mystery and crime series done so much better than American versions? Exception, of course, is the original Law and Order.
