I’m still making all my drum sounds from scratch like it’s 2012. I’m tired. What are some good sample sources?
Question

I was watching a SketiMusic video on YouTube where he flips a random sample (ie train sounds) into a track and he had some DnB drum sample pack (couldn’t ID) that had crisp fresh well made drums. He dropped them in, made a simple beat and bang, was moving. Didn’t have to touch them.

I’m out here sound diving my decades-old mega library and constructing kicks and snares from 6 or 7 sounds for hours on end.

While it results in some unique sounding stuff I just can’t be spending all my time like this!

The sample pack realm is kinda unhinged now. There are SO MANY and most are sadly rehashes or just unusable out of the box.

What are some good must have libraries for kicks, snares, breaks? I want to try out Splice but also want something a little off the path.

Cheers!
