Generation X was born, by broadest definition, between 1961 and 1981, the greatest anti-child cycle in modern history. Nevertheless, we grew up to become the world's most devoted parents: the "workhorse of America." This sub welcomes links, photos, graphics, memoirs, commentaries, stories, etc., for and about Gen-Xers, the 13th Generation of Americans. GenX also translates to many other parts of the world.
Every restaurant I go into, I swing open the doors and it’s “Oh sweet baby Jesus, why is the music in here so f’ing loud, how is a person supposed to have a conversation?” Is this a real thing, or am I turning into my parents? Corollary observation: The print on everything is so f’ing small, why, why why? Is it objective, or is it that I’m getting old?

Day 55 of coming across an Instagram reel where a woman says that all music instrumentals are bad so she makes her kids listen to nasheeds when clearly we could hear her kids screaming in the background. They are kids not dogs that you can program them to listen to what you like. All the comments were people saying that’s good there was this one comment that said, “well your kids are gonna grow up doing the most harami stuff”

You know, the kind of thing you share when discussing an artist that makes you go 'huh' that are just kind of intresting. I personally really like these little bits of info, so how about we share some around? I'll start with a few:
When Stevie Wonder's 'superstition' hit the top of the US billboard, it got the record for the song with a one word title to have the most letters that hit no 1, and it held that record for about 30 years until it was beaten by Beyonce's 'irreplaceable'
Joy Division's 'Love Will tear us apart' was kinda designed (or at least the title) in response to the Captain and Tennile hit 'Love will keep us together', and was even recorded in the same studio
The main reason The Beatles stopped touring was because the crowd's cheers were so loud the band literally could not be heard
Otis Redding's '(Sittin' on) The dock of the bay' was the first posthumous song to hit number 1 on the Billboard US charts
Eminem's 'Lose yourself' was written by him on the sets of 8 mile, the paper he wrote the lyrics on is seen in the film
Britney Spears's breakout single '...Baby one more time' was originally written with TLC in mind, but they turned it down because they didn't think it was a good fit for them. Later on, 'Umbrella' was written with Britney in mind, but they passed on it, so they gave it to another new up and comer named Rihanna
EDIT: Another good one I forgot: When Johnny Greenwood first joined radiohead he pretended that he could play piano

I am in love with the games soundtrack, I be whistling so hard whenever I open up the game. But I'm trying to be whistling on the road or in class, so is there a way to listen to the soundtrack out of the game? I tried looking it up but I can only find the CK2 ATE soundtrack on YouTube. Anyone know and are willing to help a fellow Zetanologist.
This is a place to discuss and appreciate our vivid imaginations. We are focused mainly on the positives of daydreaming. If your daydreams cause you distress or impair your function, please visit r/MaladaptiveDreaming . Otherwise, let your imagination run free!
I just discovered this subreddit, and while I don’t know what paras are or anything yet, I have been a very vivid daydreamer for as long as I can remember.
Weirdly enough, my most vivid daydreams happen when I listen to music. I like imagining my “characters” in music video style daydreams. I have a lot of old Dungeons and Dragons characters that I imagine in these scenarios.
Does anyone else get really inspired by music? I’ve met one person IRL that does, and I’m curious if y’all do as well!

We place a special emphasis on music, because this subreddit was created after annoyance over "born in the wrong generation" attitude often expressed by fans of 60s/70s rock.
