NFL
Welcome to the Reddit home of the 6-time Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots of the National Football League.
I am 52, do you know how many times I have heard "He is a generational talent"
More than I can fucking count... I honestly think it is more rare to be a 5 star high school recruit, then be a top NFL prospect, them be a pro bowl type QB then some 6th round draft pick, or a grocery store worker (Kurt Warner) to become a great QB.
You can't measure determination, you can't measure grit... You can't message competitiveness.
Now, I am not saying sit back and don't pay attention. Just make your own conclusions, your chances of being correct are no better then Mell Kipper.

I've tried to get into sports multiple times in my life but they're always too much. Too many games. It gets hard to care or follow them past a certain point. But football, I'm addicted. I follow trade rumors, coaching staff news. I have my eyes glued to who the Cowboys are potentially hiring as a defensive coordinator. I'm watching old games, and NFL films, and documentaries, and play NFL Blitz in my spare time. I play chess and it helps me understand the game more. I'm even so addicted I started following the UFL and I'm going to the first game of the season. When looking at sports news my eyes glaze over when they talk about basketball. I'm a baseball fan but even then my interest there pales compared to football. What about this sport is so addictive?

There was an interesting discussion about who the most well known teams are in another post, and one of the side conversations was who the most well known (not quite the same as “most popular”, but that would be interesting to hear as well) NFL teams are outside of the US.
So to my non-US friends: where are you from (if you don’t mind sharing), and what five NFL teams are most well known there?

Just think about it: Brock Purdy, dubbed "Mr. Irrelevant" after being the last pick in the NFL Draft, defies the odds, orchestrates two remarkable comebacks in the playoffs with insane drives, and potentially becomes the league's Most Valuable Player. He leads the San Francisco 49ers to Super Bowl glory, defeating the Chiefs, arguably the best team in the NFL at the moment. The only reason they fell short of the Super Bowl last year was due to Brock's unfortunate injury, which understandably affected the team's motivation during the NFC championship game. Everyone was genuinely concerned about Brock and his well-being, and if they were to win, they wouldn't have a QB in the Super Bowl.
Remember, this is the same guy that Alabama's Gardner Minshew mocked saying his height and accuracy were subpar(When he was one of the most accurate QBs in high school those years.) and Iowa put him as third string. When it was his time to shine, he went and broke 32 records in Iowa State while being there. He made them rank 9th, which is the highest the school has ever been to close a season. In his 4 years at Iowa State, the team had 4 consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 1923. He was also a three-time all-big 12 quarterback selection. This kid's whole life is an underdog story.
While I'm not saying the NFL is scripted, the idea that a Taylor Swift love story is more valuable than an underdog comeback tale is completely ridiculous to me. If the NFL were scripted and the script was Taylor Swift's love story, I hope the 49ers tear that script to shreds, defeat the Chiefs, and win the Super Bowl. They deserve it more than any other team in the NFL after so many years of dealing with BS. The best comeback and revenge story the NFL will ever see. Here's to a Niners Super Bowl, not only for the fans but for the players like Purdy, Kittle, Bosa, Samuels, Aiyuk, CMC, Warner, Williams, and everyone else(this list is in no particular order.).
