Saw a recent post regarding the HR of the company and the comments were criticising the company as a sweatshop company. Is Accenture really that bad? I've recently just consulted a professor (head of a school btw) for career advice after grad and he has said that Accenture is a good place to start with as it exposes you to many types of projects that can help with exit opportunities. Never knew Accenture had a bad name to it lol

I'm a sophomore rn and applied to the TDP Summer Analyst position. I haven't received an offer or rejection yet, but I'm trying to gauge how "good" an internship at Accenture actually is. Like would it be a good springboard for a potential internship at Google, Microsoft, IBM, etc. ?

This happened for Accenture toronto location for sales role. Recruiter was thoroughly impressed with first round of interview and moved me to the second stage to talk with the hiring team in just a few hours. He asked me my availabile slots and told me would be coordinating a time soon with the hiring team but never got back to me. I sent him multiple emails to follow up, no response.
What pissed me off even more was that I lied at my current job to take a day off just because recruiter promised me an interview and said they're moving really fast with the strict timelines. Not sure what to do, how to handle my emotions because this is extremely unprofessional.
Did I just dodged a bullet from what a toxic boss and culture?
UPDATE: I recieved a call from recruiter after a day of crickets, requesting me to interview the next day. He emailed me at 7PM!!!. The interview was at 10AM the next day leaving me with little to no time for interview prep. Regardless, I said Yes to give it a shot.
The next morning, at 8:30PM the person who referred me for the job initially and connected me with recruiter , got an email stating I was ALREADY rejected. He added it could be an error so I went with the interview regardless and gave it a shot again.
The interview was booked for a whole hour but the hiring manager was in a hurry because her "laptop" was dying. A reason that absolutely stumped me. She wanted to get done with the interview so quick- I've never had an experience like this. As expected, She called the interview off within 15 minutes or less. 5 minutes later I received a call from the recruiter that I was rejected. I asked why and he said I matched all their boxes but she just "liked" the other person more.
I can't even imagine the amount of interview prep stress amongst other things this company made me go through just in a span of 3-4 days.
Hiring manager, along with recruiter were total pieces of shit. I don't recommend this company to anyone and will never apply here ever again.

Follow up question: ngayong nagttrabaho na kayo rito, dream company nyo pa ba to at bakit?

Hello, I got offer sa ACN for Software Engineer Position but I asked what specifically focused yung role and the HR said na Data Engineer ( Career Level 10 )
Also I asked if it's the permanent position and the HR said yes. Additionally nag asked din ako if bayad yung OT and bayad naman daw.
I was just wondering, I'm a little bit skeptical sa response ng HR base kasi sa mga nababasa ko regarding ACN and the role is hindi ganon kaganda.
Anyone here working as DE? How was it po? Medyo naguguluhan ako sa sagot ng HR compared sa mga former ACN Employee.
Thank you so much
I work for a boutique tech consulting firm. More of a lurker on this sub but this has compelled me to post.
Has anyone worked at a smaller consultancy that's been acquired by Accenture? I'm concerned about the freedom and the ability to take initiative on projects that I currently have.
No disrespect to anyone here but I've heard more bad things about the big 4 in general than good things. I'm sure that's not entirely representative of reality but I'm worried because part of what made me stick with this company for six years was because it wasn't one of the big 4, it was nimble, it gave me responsibilities and growth opportunities I would've never had at a big 4.
Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated.
EDIT: Thank you all for all the responses, if I had time to respond to everything, well I wouldn't be in consulting, but I am reading everything and trying to use it to best position myself in all this. So from a long time lurker, again thank you guys for all advice, I greatly appreciate it.

I'm an engineering fresh grad and career shifter to tech. Ask ko lang anong pros and cons ng pag work as ASE sa accenture at sa seven seven? Kumusta ba ang bootcamp, compensation, work-life balance, at culture ng dalawa?
Worth it ba ang mahabang bond sa seven seven? Totoo bang mas hands on at in depth ang bootcamp sa seven seven compared sa accenture?
Has anyone here ever done the women in tech bootcamp at Accenture? The details for it are .
I’m currently doing a 1 year university certification in computer science, and I’ll be done in a year. If anyone has done this, how is it? Is it worth it even if I’m still somewhat of a beginner in coding?
My main goal in attending would be to make some connections.
Thanks!

I read up on their website but don't fully understand what they do. Is it like a bunch of partnerships coming together on their website to offer services? Someone please explain!
Have a virtual assessment tomorrow with Accenture, anyone know what the grad role is like and advice on the interview ?

Hey guys!
So I am currently a junior at GT and a CS major, and I just got offered a summer 2023 internship position at Accenture as a Technology Summer Analyst. I also have a return offer from a company I worked at last summer (Home Depot) for software engineer intern.
I was wondering if anyone could provide insights as to whether this Accenture role would be a good one or not. Has anyone done this internship? If so, what did you think?
Is Accenture a somewhat prestigious company that looks good on resume? Or would I be better off taking the home depot return offer? (I also want to keep applying to other places but I wanted to get a better idea of what this offer means)
Also, out of curiosity, if I accept this offer, then get a better one later can I take back my acceptance without any major penalities?
TLDR; what do you think about Accenture's Technology summer analyst internship position? Good/prestigious opportunity for a CS junior?

Hi! Can I pursue the career in ASE (Accenture)? I'm a fresh graduate Civil Engineer, and do have basic knowledge in programming. Do you think I will be accepted in this position? And, what are the tips that you can give to me regarding to applying in this position?
Thank you!

Hello everyone,
I've received a job offer from CitiusTech in Pune for the role of a Data Engineer, which is similar to my current position. This would be my first job switch. They are offering a package of 12.5 LPA. Additionally, I have another offer from Accenture with a package of 11 LPA.
Since I don't personally know anyone at CitiusTech, even after reaching out to people on LinkedIn, I would appreciate any insights or reviews from anyone who might have experience with the company. During the technical interview, they inquired about my willingness to train freshers after my regular working hours and whether I could occasionally work extra hours.
If anyone has information about working hours, work-life balance, or other aspects of working at CitiusTech, I'd greatly appreciate your input. Thank you!

Hello, gusto ko lang humingi ng advice. I'm a fresh graduate and I'm looking forward for my first job, I applied for Accenture's ASE (Associate Software Engineer) and DXC's Technology Consultant (I don't know which department/role they'll put me in yet). I'm just waiting for them to schedule me or to send my their Job offers since I passed already their respective interviews.
Baka meron dito naka experience working for both companies or nakapag share yung friends niyo regarding their experiences with the said companies or your own experience for 1 of the companies. Please provide your pros and cons kung applicable man.
Baka meron kayong alam which of the two can/will provide me better opportunities and career growth for freshers like me? Yung after 2-3 years masasabi ko na marami akong natutunan and ready ako for my next job or opportunity if ever I decide to leave.
I understand that most of you will say na depende parin talaga sa team or sa manager lalo na sa project kung ano magiging experience mo and how you adapt to certain things pero still I would like to know your stories hehe.
Thank you very much sa sasagot!

I like working at Accenture but I just cannot see myself working 12 hrs a day with this level of stress all my life. I know some people who worked in consulting companies and now they are managers somewhere else and all say the same thing: stay there to build your career and then move to another good company. But move to where exactly?and how?
Value investing in all its forms - From Graham & Dodd, to Buffett & Munger, to their philosophical descendants today
Hello! This week I will take the opportunity to value Accenture. Over the past decade, they have achieved impressive returns with a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.74%. This overperformed the S&P500, which had a return of 10.16%, and outperformed the VT, which had a return of 8.18%.
Total Returns against markets:
The company's growth is attributed to increased revenues, which increased by 11.49% CAGR in the last 5 years, improved operational margins that went from 14% to 15.3% today, and through dividends and share buybacks, which increase their return on investment and increasing multiples.
Revenue CAGR L5Y | EPS CAGR L5Y | Dividends CAGR L5Y |
---|---|---|
11.49% | 14.62% | 10.48% |
Company Description:
Accenture plc operates as a consulting and outsourcing company. The company works for a lot of different companies in different industries all over the world. The type of work that the company does is consulting and outsourcing, with 55% of revenue coming from consulting and 45% from outsourcing.
Industry Groups Share of Revenue | Average 2018 - 2022 |
---|---|
Communications, Media & Tech | 19% |
Financial Services | 20% |
Health & Public Service | 18% |
Products | 29% |
Resources | 14% |
Industry Groups Growth | Average 2018 - 2022 |
---|---|
Communications, Media & Tech | 13% |
Financial Services | 9% |
Health & Public Service | 13% |
Products | 12% |
Resources | 8% |
Total | 11% |
Valuation (Discounted Cash Flow):
• Revenue growth rate for the next 5 years will be 7.5%, decreasing slowly from year 6 to 10 to the risk-free rate (3.91%).
• Operating Margin: The operating margin is forecasted to increase from 15.27% in 2022 to 16% in 2027.
• Cost of Capital: The company's cost of capital stands at 9.70%, with 98.44% of it being equity with a cost of 9.79%, and 1.56% being debt with a cost of debt of 4.15%.
• Terminal Growth Rate: The terminal growth rate is anticipated to be the risk-free rate of 3.91%.
• Terminal Cost of Capital: The terminal cost of capital is calculated as the risk-free rate plus 4.5%, equating to 8.41%.
• Terminal Return on Invested Capital: The terminal return on invested capital is expected to be more than 5% higher than the cost of capital, as the company has shown that it can return a high return on invested capital (34.51% in 2022), so it will be 13.41%.
• Value per Share: The value per share is estimated to be $239.08.
• Market Price Today: The current market price of the company is $270.00.
Based on the above calculations, the company is overvalued. I would consider a good opportunity to buy some Accenture plc around $230. This company has had remarkable growth in the last 10 years, and I consider it a high-quality company as it is growing, unleveraged, profitable, and returns capital to shareholders through dividends and buybacks.
Risks:
Macroeconomy:
• Accenture's business is dependent on the health of the global economy and market conditions. Economic downturns, geopolitical instability, or other market disruptions could impact the demand for the company's services and its ability to generate revenue.
Dependence on key clients:
• Accenture generates a significant portion of its revenue from a small number of large clients. Dependence on key clients could increase the company's vulnerability to client-specific risks such as economic downturns or client insolvency.
TLDR
According to my discounted cash flow model analysis, the market price of Accenture plc is overvalued. The company has a track record of growth and operates in an industry that may face challenges in the short term but will remain in a strong position and as such is an attractive company at a right price. I consider this company high quality and as such I don’t expect a big margin of safety so around $230 I will be happy to own.
However, there are several risks to consider, including the economy and the high dependence on key clients. Despite these challenges, Accenture remains in a good position in the industry and in the market to provide good returns for investors.
