Can we please stop advocating for pros to be FIRED?

I see so many posts dissing certain pros and advocating for them to be fired.

If there IS a post defending a pro, they try to re-direct the hate and turn it to another pro and say “fire this pro instead!!!” which is extremely hypocritical.

Can I ask, why are we advocating for the pros to straight up be FIRED? Yes, admittedly, there are a few that I personally really don’t care for and there are a few pros whose egos might rub me the wrong way, but I don’t think any of them have done anything bad enough to warrant being fired.

For instance, Artem is one of the pros that’s not really my fav. But do you all remember how devastated and hurt he was when the show dropped him and didn’t invite him back for season 28? He fell into a very deep depression and was completely lost. Even though I personally don’t care for him as far as his choreography, I couldn’t help but feel bad when he was clearly struggling to so much after being fired.

Not saying that’ll happen to every pro who might find themselves in a similar position, but firing someone can definitely be a major blow to someone’s life. It can literally RUIN someone’s life.

Some of these pros really live for this show. This is their life, their income. But people here just love to throw around “fire so and so!!” like Halloween candy on this sub every single day.

That’s all I guess. I just don’t think you have to tear someone down in such a mean spirited way to hype up another pro, or troupe member you want to see promoted.

Positivity for our pros

Can we take a minute to applaud the pros for the work they do on the show and on tour? Even if there’s pros you don’t care for, one thing is certain that they do all love this show and the fans. For those who’ve had the opportunity to go to shows and especially meet them you’ll see how much those experiences mean to them. It’s amazing that they do those shows for days on end, sometimes two shows a day (because of the demand for tickets quite a few shows added matinees). Watching them in rehearsals I don’t know how they do it. I don’t know how Dani managed to dance injured during the finale or dance sick earlier in the season. I don’t know how her and Jenna and Pasha and Val will juggle having babies on tour with that kind of schedule.

Eventually, this show will come to an end, and probably even before that some of these pros will leave or be sat out for a season (I don’t really like to use the term fired because I’m not sure if that’s really what it is). But the pros enjoy it, you can tell that they like taking underdogs and helping them improve, and create stories through dance. As mentioned, this is their livelihood, and outside of conventions or doing another dance show there’s not a ton of opportunities for them out there. I also know there’s no doubt plenty of dancers who’d love the chance to be a pro on here but may never get the chance due to limited spots. It’s easy to get caught up in the negativity, especially when you feel your favorites are getting attacked (I’m guilty of that). But everyone adds something. If you don’t like a pro, don’t follow them on SM, and don’t follow their spouses, parents, siblings, or whoever. I know I’ll be sad when our current pros start leaving, but I’ve been through it before when the OGs started getting phased out. Let’s enjoy them and the show for as long as we have it.
