WWYD? I have the video of the license plate as the car pulled into the parking spot next to my Tesla, the kid swings open the door and smacks it right into my Tesla, then gets out and proceeds to try and wipe away the dent with their finger. Does not seem like the parent was aware of what happened, and if it were an older car I would not care, but my car has barely a thousand miles yet. Do I contact the police or my insurance to investigate?

Not only have premiums gone way up despite my driving habits not changing. But the fcw got way more aggressive and its inaccurate as hell. I’m getting dinged over and over in rush hour traffic when I’m looking straight ahead and not in danger of hitting the car in front of me. I might switch insurance companies because every time I get dinged I can smell the dollars burning in my wallet.
I also hate the changes to AP in this most recent update but that’s another story.
TL;DR: Took delivery of a December ‘23 build MYLR (Red/White) in early January. Had only 2 minor issues found post-delivery and had a very positive service-center experience.
Delivery: I took delivery of my new December ‘23 Model Y Long Range (Red exterior, white interior, 19” Wheels, Austin build) on January 13. I got the POS tax credit, had a trade-in, and the entire process was super quick and easy, while still feeling supported. Blue Ash Tesla let me inspect the car prior to accepting delivery. It was SO cold. Like 13 degrees out that day, so quickly ran over major points (gaps, alignment, paint imperfections) and didn’t really see anything. When transferring my stuff, I noticed the rear doors needed a TON of effort to close properly and still didn’t sit quite flush. Didn’t think too much of it. Entire process took less than 10 minutes and was ready to roll. We live 1.5 hours from the delivery center and only have a service center in our city due to state dealership laws, so I wanted to make sure I was paying close attention to report anything within the 100 miles/7 day window, since that 100 miles would be used on the drive home. As soon as we got on the interstate… I noticed a significant whistle coming from what I thought was the windshield. It was definitely a sign of wind-intrusion and not just general wind noise. Other than that and the doors, no other issues we found. Submitted the ticket, had a little trouble scheduling, but managed to get it all in the ticket.
Waiting for service: Service appt was about a week out, as they thought they were going to have to replace the windshield entirely due to my description. In that time, the winter storm came thru and of course was extremely cold and snowy. We drove the car normally and noticed that there was a horrendous squeak when the drivers door was being opened (coming from the window dropping to clear and open), but just thought it was due to the weather and the car being covered from the grime & slush. Tesla notified me that a test drive with a tech would be required to validate and diagnose the wind noise and that most likely, the repair would not take long enough for a loaner (I didn’t request one to begin with, so no issue there). Estimate came in with a potential cost to replace the entire windshield at $1,560 if not under warranty, so I accepted and moved on.
Actual service appointment: Pulled into the center (8:00am) and was greeted by an advisor and a tech waiting for me. He inspected both doors and immediately said “yep - let’s get that fixed because that ain’t great.” As soon as I opened the door, he heard the squeal and said “ooooooh, no no no, add that to the list.” And we proceeded on the test drive. I didn’t even get up to speed before he could hear it and he immediately confirmed the noise and told me to head back to the center. The advisor offered me a MYP as a loaner just in case the job took longer than they anticipated, as I mentioned I had a business trip the following day (still did not request the loaner, mind you). I thanked them and told them it would most likely exceed the max distance and mileage for a loaner and he assured me it would be totally fine since I let them know up front. So, off I went in the MYP for the day. Around 12, got a message saying they’d fixed everything and to pickup whenever I was ready.
Wind noise fix: Turns out, the little squeal was the culprit for the wind intrusion. There was a seal that was misaligned that was not only causing the glass to squeal upon the windows dropping, but also allowing the wind noise at speeds above 40 mph.
I realize others have had horror stories with delivery defects, service issues and a range of other items, but I thought a positive experience might add some value and maybe a different perspective. Hopefully others will have similar experiences in the future, too! :)

Hey Tesla enthusiasts! 👋 I'm in the market for a Tesla Model 3, preferably a 2021 or later model with less than 60k miles. I've come across some options at Hertz Used Car Sales, and I'm curious if anyone here has experience buying a Tesla from them. Any insights, tips, or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! 🚗

I paid in full and Tesla contacts me after 3 weeks dating they haven’t received payment for the car. The bank cannot get it canceled for 3 more months. So I’ll have to wait it out before reissuing them a check. They seem to have misplaced it. I will obviously not give them another because there’s a small chance they can find the original check and encash that one too.
I’m wondering if I can refuse payment after 3 months and then ask them to take the vehicle back. Or ask for a model Y upgrade? (maybe pay some difference). Or ask for free FSD for the car? What do you guys think my options are?
