Count me among them. When the highlights in the NBA show teams giving up halfway through the play it's legit annoying to watch. The rules in the NBA are so offense and highlight focused it looks like a track meet at the Y now.

Serious five plus games of 60+ points and I'm not even a little excited. Why? Because it just demonstrates how little stats mean in the nba now.

Sure we can say talent level is higher compared to past eras, but shouldn't that mean defensive talent is higher too???

Good God at least in the NBA they play defense throughout EaCH possession. There is variety in post play. There is very little give up on defense.

Straight up the W is way more watchable especially comparing regular season.

I have watched the NBA for nearly four decades now and the last ten years have been hot garbage. It sickens me. At least watching European, International and the women's game gives me hope that there's some version of basketball that is watchable still.

In between the Lakers titles on both sides of the decade, the NBA popularity tanked. The talent was really low and teams often didn’t hit 100. Spurs won 3 titles in this stretch and were often criticized for being “too boring”

Now, there’s a ton of talent to the point that 4 players this week alone have scored 60+ Defense has fallen by the wayside and the 3 point shot has taken center stage. The branding is in a weird place with every team having 6 jerseys, different styles of courts and sports/ betting/ advertising everywhere.

NBA whether consciously or not is trying to avoid being boring and possibly an unpopular opinion but it’s turned a lot of people like myself off.

For someone they don't like he sure is taking up a lot of real estate on that page 🤷‍♂️

This season, the average scoring per game per team is at 115.6, which is the highest since 1968 and is nearing its all-time-high of 118.8 in 1962. As recently as 2015, the scoring was at 100.0, and in 2012 it was 96.6. This week, the scoring inflation was especially obvious with Embiid, Towns, Doncic and Booker all going for 60+ points, Embiid and Doncic even for 70+.

So I have three questions:

1. Should the NBA do something against the scoring inflation in your opinion?

2. Do you expect the NBA to do something against it (in the longterm)?

3. What would be some good rule changes which would allow for a better balance between offense and defense?

Good read. Watching the team the last couple of games I felt like maybe Miles was being impacted by the trade rumors and looking forward to moving on (he looked out of it). If that was the case - I thought they should go ahead and move him because that energy rubs off on others. It was good to read this and see that he wants to be here (which is not a small thing) and that they (as expected) are just rebounding from the Terry trade.

If he can rock steady for the rest of the season, I want to bring him back (though I understand those who want him gone). I am not on the "blow everything up" train, as I believe that we are building and keeping your 25 and under, pre-prime quality assets is the way to go (definitely not losing them for a Bojangles 2 piece to the Suns, Sixers or the like). Ball / Miller / Bridges / Washington / Williams / Richards / Smith Jr. are quality building blocks (yes. all 7 of them - they just need to be casted correctly and time to develop). Getting rid of Miles for the sake of "re-building" which includes getting top picks that you hope can turn into Miles or better in a few years is a waste of time. Move on with those 7, hit on another draft, and use the 50 million freed up from Hayward/Rozier coming off the books to bring in high quality starters/role players (ex. the Rockets). Just my 2.

I think Jamaal Tinsley and Tim Hardaway Sr would do good as they both had some nice handles and I think that jamaal would benefit well from the increased pace.

I’d like to see what Aryvdas Sabonis would’ve been like if he came into the league 10 years younger because we see all these passing bigs nowadays and it would be interesting to see how his game would work nowadays.

Michael Redd played like a slower TMac to me and he was a silky smooth shooting guard that would fit right in as he had the handles and the jumper.

Sean Elliot had a nice all round game - he could play above the rim, shoot 40% from deep, defend and I think the fact that he could score in bunches wouldn’t change.

This is a very deep cut that most casual fans probably don’t know and it doesn’t really fit with the title, but I am and will always be curious to see how Earl Manigault would’ve turned out if he played in the league.

Is it something about our personnel that he doesn’t feel comfortable with? Or is it like a philosophical thing that he doesn’t believe in shooting 3s?

I’m just bummed because I love Mike Woodson as a person- but I’m worried that another season like this will result in a change and recruits transferring etc. I just want stability in the program and I (still) hope Woodson will be the guy.

Ben Simmons is out for today’s game on Saturday. However, he is expected to play on Monday for his next game so it’s gonna be his first game back in the league for quite a while and we’re all really excited. Watch Benjamin his place so let’s see how it goes and let’s get excited.

I’ve seen a lot of teams running the spain action and putting different wrinkles into that. Using elevator screens. But what’s the best play to run? I know it’s probably different for all the different styles of plays and leagues. But if you had to pick the most unstoppable play what is it?

We'll see how my night ends. I swapped off ant last minute so that's probably going to absolutely kill me but everything else is doing good. Small slate tomorrow with pretty bad contests and POR has the whole team Q so not really looking forward to it.

Two of the biggest and most expensive projects currently being discussed in the SLC metro are:

1. The Rio Grande plan, which , but (among other things) would free up 75 acres of land

2. Ryan Smith's desire to build a new arena for either the NHL or NHL/NBA combined, as well as the ability to have significant investment stakes in a surrounding entertainment district similar to or the

Numerous public polls have shown that locals prefer that the NBA/Jazz remain downtown, but the relative lack of land runs counter to priority #2 above.

So, I was curious- is there any chance a public/private partnership between Utah/SLC and Ryan Smith could kill two birds with one stone? Both parties would commit a certain amount of money (likely combined with federal grants) to get the Rio Grande plan off the ground, with the agreement that Smith would in some way own or control development rights to 1/3 or 1/2 of the resulting land, including a new home for his NBA/NHL arena.

I'm personally (at best) a very amateur city planning enthusiast, so I present the honest question to a group far smarter than myself- is there any chance this would be feasible legally/logistically/etc., or is this just an ignorant person's pipe dream?
