I'm sad. Any movie recommendations that speak to my mood but don't make me feel worse in the end?

Mike Leigh makes his share of the saddest and bleakest movies out there - but he also made ”Happy-Go-Lucky”, following Sally Hawkins as a person whose happiness seems shallow at first and then is gradually revealed to be much deeper - including a source of compassion when faced with real suffering. It’s a move that is bubbly in general and one of my fav upbeat movies - even tho it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Are there any movies set in "infinity castle(demon slayer) like place?"

People already mentioned Cube, but Hellraiser II has a vision of hell as endless canyonlike architecture that you might find fun - google the Matte paintings for the movie to see what I mean.

Have any Greg Egan fans come across the PC game "4D Golf?"

It's a fun trip through getting a feel extra-dimensional geometry that I'm really appreciating while I'm mid-way through the Orthogonal trilogy, though it doesn't help with the time-space interchangeability there.

But for fans of Diaspora (Spoilers for both the back-half of Diaspora and late game mechanics of 4d Golf): >!The last round of levels in 4d golf is actually 5d. It makes me want to spend some time in those levels to get more and more of a feel for 5d space and then plunge back into the back half of Diaspora, which is one of my favorites.<

What’s a bad movie with great cinematography

I can't actually speak to it, but I've wanted to watch a good transfer of poorly received sequel "Conan the Destroyer" ever since discovering its cinematographer was Jack Cardiff, who shot "The Red Shoes" and "Black Narcissus"

Nissim Amon has responded to the claims made about him ...

He said he didn’t say to be “merciless” - he’s contesting elements of the translation, not the fact that he gave this talk to Israeli soldiers.
